The Morality Of Free Market Capitalism Rant

As an economic system, Free Market Capitalism is peerless. It’s literally unrivaled anywhere on the planet. It has catapulted the United States to its position as the single most wealthy and powerful nation that the world has ever seen. Ancient empires like Rome, Greece, or Egypt couldn’t have possibly dreamed of or imagined amassing the level of wealth and prosperity that Americans have become so accustomed to. Even those citizens to whom we refer to as poor are far more affluent than most of the world’s population and possess luxuries that the rulers of old couldn’t possibly fathom, comprehend, or even contemplate. We live lives today that even our grandparents would have deemed the stuff of science fiction. We are indeed the economic envy of the world.

That being the case automatically leaves us wide open to attack from those that can’t possibly compete with us in the realms of wealth, prosperity, and productivity. We have been branded as crass, overly materialistic, shallow, and crude. Our seemingly overriding focus on acquiring “things” and our passion for “conspicuous consumption” have led to charges that we are uncaring, unfeeling, and lack any and all semblance of compassion for the plight or well-being of not only the world’s poor and unfortunate but even for our own citizens who seem not to be able to cope with life’s challenges. We are accused not only of amorality but rather of a complete and utter immorality which translates in the minds of our detractors into a coldness and callousness the likes of which has never before been seen in world history.

These folks go by various names and labels. They are invariably: socialist; statist; big governmenteers; freedom destroyers; liberal elites; and enemies of individualism and self-reliance. They are collectivist in the extreme. They are of the mind that the individual must sacrifice his own selfish and narrow interests for something vaguely termed the “Greater Good” which always and inevitably translates into the state or the government. These people desire the complete destruction of Free Market Capitalism and thus by extension the United States of America. If they succeed, we will have witnessed the demise of the greatest force for good in the history of the planet. They are indeed our enemies and unfortunately far too many of them are fellow citizens.

These are the pathetic creatures who champion such nefarious schemes as “redistributive rationalities” which argue that life under our Free Market System is simply too unfair and those who have more than most must be punished by having the wealth that they have honestly earned and created taken from them by government and given to those who do not in any meaningful way contribute anything to society’s betterment or well-being. These are the takers, not the producers. They are the plunderers, not the performers. They are the modern-day Goths and Visigoths – the barbarians who have successfully crossed the Rubicon and seek the destruction of the old order. They hoot, they holler, and they howl at the moon and whine that life has not treated them fairly. They insist that the deck has been stacked against them from the day of their birth and it is the “system” that is to blame for their dissatisfaction and failure. They believe that because they can’t successfully compete for life’s rewards, then they shouldn’t have to.

They are parasites perfectly willing to drain the life out of the host body but are too short-sighted and myopic to realize that in the end they have chosen a path of utter and complete self-destruction. The latest incarceration of these fools can be seen nightly if you pay attention to the news. That’s right, those Occupy Wall Street drek who seem to be complaining that the “system” does not allow them to realize their full potential so the best thing to do, obviously, is to literally occupy private property, vandalize the same, defecate on police vehicles, publicly smoke dope, and fornicate in full view of the entire nation. Yeah, there’s a battle plan for you, a veritable formula for success! One young fellow was overheard on camera mumbling in a semi-coherent fashion about the immorality of the United States and the abject unfairness of a system that benefits only the fortunate few at the top while literally crushing those underneath them.

Unfortunately, this benighted youth – whose parents I’m sure are paying a small fortune for the brat’s university education – is not just a rare phenomenon in our sissified, feminized, and wussified nation in the 21st Century. I’m afraid the kid’s attitude is becoming all too common in today’s America and that trend seems to be gaining momentum at an alarming rate. To even attempt to explain to him and his compatriots that Free Market Capitalism is the very epitome, the utter essence of a supreme morality would be about as productive as trying to convince a Jihadist suicide bomber that he just might be on the wrong side of the tracks and could benefit from contemplating another course of action. These young ‘uns are the victims of an educational system run completely amok and has, in fact, morphed into an anti-American, anti-Capitalist propaganda engine manned by socialists, radicals, revolutionaries, and other destructive types Hell-bent on destroying this nation. They have been brainwashed since at least kindergarten and the process continues unabated right through college and graduate school. These “types” are probably lost to us and have virtually no chance of ever becoming proud, patriotic citizens who are fully appreciative of the blessings to be garnered in our Free Market Capitalist system.

The claim that Capitalism is a truly and remarkably moral system is not just a mere assertion, hope, or claim. It is demonstrably and patently true and only those who seek its destruction will argue otherwise. Morality and morals deal with concepts of right and wrong, good and bad, and evil versus virtue. There is not much wiggle room here unless, of course, you are a member of our LFE (Liberal Fucking Elite) who can somehow in their own warped and twisted minds turn virtue into vice. These folks are masters of prevarication, dissembling, and deceit. They can easily and pithily turn black into white, night into day, and right into wrong. To them, everything is acceptable and nothing is taboo or off limits. They can literally take long held and cherished beliefs that have sustained and bolstered America and Americans into anathema: values and traditions to be shunned and cast out.

What are some of these long held traditions that are embodied in the concept of Free Market Capitalism and are imbued with a clear sense of morality? Let’s construct just a partial list. We can begin with: individualism; limited government; voluntary exchange and a lack of coercion; ethics and spirituality; value creation and service to humanity; rising living standards; longer life spans; opportunity; incentives to succeed and produce; a truly civilizing agent; sympathy; altruism; compassion; self-discipline; perseverance; honesty; self-sufficiency; alleviation of poverty; better health; greater access to education; dignity; democracy; entrepreneurship; thrift; hard work; self-ownership and private property; and trust. Please keep in mind that this constitutes merely the short list of just some of the ways Free Market Capitalism and morality are integrally intertwined and that without a sense of morality no market system can truly succeed in providing those under its prevue with the things they need and desire.(see related video)

The list referenced above is the exact antithesis of where the Far Left would take the United States, to whit, Socialism which has failed dismally every single time and place its been attempted. If you can conceive of the exact opposite of every item listed above you’ll gain an insight into what the LFE desires for the United States. They want a dependant and subservient population that is controlled through coercion, force, and fear. They abhor values such as individualism and independence. They despise such concepts as entrepreneurship for that does not foster greater dependence on government but rather depends upon less and less government intrusion into the lives of the citizenry. The above values and virtues are the death knell of any Nanny-State Socialist scheme for control is ceded to the individual and not some amorphous all powerful and consuming central authority that couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the subjects it controls with the iron fist of smothering regulation and crippling and confiscatory taxation. Free Market Capitalism imbued with a sense of morality constitutes a Socialist’s worst nightmare and fear. As long as it exists and remains healthy Socialism cannot flourish and succeed. That is why those on the Far Left are doing their damndest in every way they can to discredit and destroy Capitalism and thus the United States.

An article entitled, “Socialism vs. Capitalism: Which is the Moral System (www.ashbrook.org)?” notes that throughout, “history there have been two basic forms of social organization: collectivism and individualism. In the twentieth century collectivism has taken many forms: socialism, fascism, Nazism, welfare-statism and communism are its more notable variations.” The author concludes that the, “only social system commensurate with individualism is laissez-faire capitalism.” C. Bradley Thompson recognizes that Capitalism has been a resounding success in the material realm but states that, “very few people are willing to defend capitalism as morally uplifting.” This is disappointing in the extreme and can only be the result of constant and overwhelming Liberal propaganda, misinformation, and lies. They preach ad nausea that Capitalism creates only misery, dissatisfaction, and grinding poverty. They tell us at every turn that Capitalism is uncaring, unfeeling, brutal, and cruel. It is dehumanizing and has no soul. The article continues that it, “is fashionable among college professors, journalists, and politicians these days to sneer at the free-enterprise system. They tell us that capitalism is base, callous, exploitive, dehumanizing, alienating, and utterly enslaving.”

Thompson further maintains that the above accusations directed at Capitalism more properly and realistically apply to the Socialists in our midst. He points out that under, “socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.” That doesn’t sound like a system imbued with morality but rather quite the opposite. One must remember, however, that a favorite ploy of the LFE is to accuse the enemy of exactly what they themselves are guilty of. The article continues that the, “morality of socialism can be summed up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire not only to possess another’s wealth but also the desire to see another’s wealth lowered to the level of one’s own.” Thompson quotes two notable and noteworthy intellectuals on the theme of self-sacrifice: Hermann Goering and Benito Mussolini. The Nazi Bastard defined self-sacrifice as when the “common good comes before private good,” while the Italian gentleman insisted that self-sacrifice is, “a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests . . . realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies.” So, it would seem that the Liberals amongst us are in complete agreement with leaders of two of the most brutal, deadly, and oppressive regimes ever to plague mankind. That should tell us something.

The author correctly maintains that Socialism, “is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice. It is the social system which uses coercion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.” Furthermore, despite the, “intellectuals psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders – that is as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.” Which system sounds morally grounded to you – Capitalism or Socialism? Additionally, “Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of things exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgment of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.”

The article continues that Capitalism is, “both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement regardless of one’s birth or station in life.” Capitalism is thereby the only truly egalitarian economic and social system in the history of the planet. All are absolutely free to succeed or fail and the only limits placed on an individual’s ability to rise are those that are self-imposed. There are no external or artificial barriers placed on achievement by some outside entity or authority. It’s up to each one of us to develop the skills, drive, and initiative necessary to realize our personal levels of success. There are no outside limitations placed on our ability to succeed – or to fail. The role of government in this system, then, should and must be kept to a bare minimum. Government should guarantee a level playing field and enforce the concept that no one comes up to the starting line with any unfair or undeserved advantages over anyone else. Beyond that, government should get the Hell out of the way and let the participants compete. There is simply no way to deny the underlying morality of a system based on principles such as these.

The Socialists in our midst, or Liberals if you will, can’t abide or tolerate a system that gives primacy to the individual over the collective or the state. You see, that would render them useless, insignificant, and irrelevant and their egos are far too bloated to allow that. They must be in control and can’t even entertain the possibility of the individual taking charge of his own destiny and life without their meddlesome and dangerous interference. Socialists fancy themselves the only ones wise and intelligent enough to competently and efficiently oversee the progress of mankind. We ordinary folks, we little people must learn our place and allow society’s “betters” to make all decisions for us. We simply do not possess the requisite intelligence or lofty vision to make such serious and grave decisions as to the nature of man, how best to organize society, or the direction in which the nation should be headed. All that should better be left to “them” for if given the opportunity, those of us on the bottom will only muck things up!

You see, the Capitalist-Entrepreneur more than anything else loves freedom. They love the concept of succeeding by dint of their own intelligence, capability, and drive. Those that understand Capitalism relish traditions like rugged individualism, limited government interference, and success based on merit alone. The Socialists react to such concepts as would Dracula to a cross! They are not about freedom but rather about control – controlling every and all aspects of the lives of citizens. The single and most odious thing feared by the Capitalist, then, is government control and intervention because government “taxation and regulation are the means by which social planners punish and restrict the man or woman of ideas.” Additionally, such Liberal staples as, “welfare, taxes, tariffs, minimum-wage laws are all immoral because they use the coercive power of the state to organize human choice and action; they’re immoral because they inhibit or deny the freedom to choose how we live our lives; they’re immoral because they deny our right to live as autonomous moral agents; and they’re immoral because they deny our essential humanity.”

Thompson concludes by speaking directly to the present moment and conditions as they exist in today’s America. The Socialists have taken control of the nation’s most important institutions and are doing their damndest to use them to destroy the United States of America. They control the Presidency, the Courts, and the Senate. They control the so-called “mainstream” media, news, and entertainment. They control our educational system. Through these institutions, they have been able to mold, shape, and pervert the minds and attitudes of citizens, especially our youth, to such an extent that, “America is no longer a capitalist nation. We live under what is more properly called a mixed economy – that is, an economic system that permits private property, but only at the discretion of government planners.” This is the exact antithesis of what our Founders envisioned for this country all those years ago. Remember, they feared an all powerful centralized government yet this is exactly where we are headed under the current regime. This is a planned and managed tactic on the part of the LFE to destroy the United States as we have come to know and cherish it.

The article notes that when, “government redistributes wealth through taxation, when it attempts to control and regulate business production and trade, who are the winners and losers? Under this kind of economy the winners and losers are reversed: the winners are those who scream the loudest for a handout and the losers are those quiet citizens who work hard and pay their taxes.” Does this sound moral, ethical, or just to you? If it does, then you are one of “them” and you should be acutely aware that those of us on the other side are getting damned sick and tired of you losers robbing us blind. A reckoning is coming and it’s just a matter of when. You LFE Losers have done far too much damage to the premier economic success in world history and based on the abandonment of classical Capitalism and the creation of what can only be termed a welfare state, “America has created two new classes of citizens. The first is a debased class of dependents whose means of survival is contingent upon the forced expropriation of wealth from working citizens by a professional class of government social planners. The forgotten man and woman in all of this is the quiet, hardworking, lawabiding, taxpaying citizens who minds his or her own business but is forced to work for the government and their serfs.”

Capitalism, then, far from being immoral and totally focused on merely acquiring “things” is truly the most moral, just, and uplifting of all the economic-social systems the world has ever experienced. The fact that it does provide – to those who will work for them – better than any other system for the physical requirements that all people must have is really the very essence of morality. It is really the key factor that allowed for the development of true and free civilizations. In fact, Capitalism is truly life-affirming as well as life-extending. Think back to man’s hunting and gathering stage which developed so many thousands of years ago and persists to the present day in certain parts of the world. Survival was all that mattered and it was far from a certainty. If man wanted to eat, he had to follow the herds from location to location or search for edible plants and grasses. Nothing like a true civilization could possibly develop when life was no more than a daily struggle for physical survival. Life, to coin a phrase, was always nasty, brutish, and short. There was nothing else. Even with the advent of subsistence farming, not too much changed for then life consisted of little more than relentless, back-breaking physical labor to provide for oneself and one’s family.

The development of full-blown Capitalism based on free markets constituted one of the world’s truly great revolutions and coupled with the Industrial Revolution literally uplifted humanity to dizzying new heights. Man now had something never before contemplated, imagined, and certainly never experienced: Leisure Time. Human beings had somehow managed to secure their physical survival and had even created conditions necessary to hand it down to yet unborn generations. People could actually envision the future rather than merely exist from day to day. It became possible to dream, to imagine, and to create. Rude and temporary villages became towns and cities which burgeoned into civilizations. Human beings could create great and magnificent works of art that were unthinkable without the concept of leisure time. Man’s energies were no longer focused exclusively on raw, harsh survival. Man could nurture his mind, soul, and spirit as well as his body. All of this and so much more could not have been accomplished save for the introduction of Free Market Capitalism for no other system can possibly provide the means to support the kinds of creativity that allows and encourages true progress in all fields of endeavor. Capitalism permitted concepts like freedom and endless possibilities to flourish along with a belief in and hope for the future as opposed to an unending and crushing hopelessness which had been man’s lot from the beginning of time and history. None of this could have occurred without the advent and blossoming of Free Market Capitalism. Those who still see it at as immoral, unjust, and unfair do so only out of sheer ignorance and/or jealousy. Free Market Capitalism is supremely moral!

An article entitled, “Capitalism and Morality (http://lincolntribune.com),” explains the utter morality of Capitalism not in some esoteric, ethereal, or philosophical manner but rather as it relates to the betterment of the human condition. The author correctly insists that Capitalism through its key component of competition has done more to improve the lives of ordinary citizens than any other system in history. He notes, however, that when “anti-capitalists hear the term competition, they think it is a cruel process that hurts those who don’t have the resources or ability to survive.” He insists that this, “isn’t cruel though. Only through competition do we provide the numerous benefits to consumers.” Author Daren Bakst explains that, “competition drives down prices and forces competition in the marketplace to innovate and improve their goods or services constantly. For those who can’t keep prices down or offer a better good or service, survival isn’t possible.” In addition, “low-income individuals are able to enjoy goods and services that wouldn’t be available to even upper-income individuals in socialist societies. Nothing captures the difference between capitalism and socialism like a trip to the grocery store.”

In contrast, the author notes that while, “capitalism brings competition and the many benefits that it provides consumers, socialism brings central planning, shortages and poor products. There’s nothing moral about a select few elites in a centrally planned economy having the arrogance to believe that planning can mimic the complexity of a free market.” Furthermore, Socialism can’t possibly create wealth because by its very nature it must destroy wealth via its constant focus and emphasis on redistribution: taking from the productive class and giving it to those who don’t, cannot, or refuse to produce. This is intrinsically immoral and wrong and represents precisely the mind-set and strategy of the Far Left in America today. After all, why work for it if you can simply steal it?

All they need to do is surround their Leftist, anti-American propaganda with lofty sounding phrases like, “it’s for the greater good,” or, “compassionate caring,” and perhaps, “we must aid and comfort the underprivileged,” and they create a moral cloak that disguises their nefarious aims and purpose. They want nothing less than to destroy Free Market Capitalism, replace it with Socialism, and enslave the American people. They desire and must have a permanent underclass completely dependent on government to provide their every desire and necessity from cradle to grave. They desperately seek the destruction of this country as most of us have come to love and cherish it. Capitalism, however, creates wealth which, “generates jobs, improves quality of life, a cleaner environment and much more. When businesses are able to make profits, they can create jobs and reinvest the profits into goods and services that could have valuable societal benefits.”

Capitalism belies the old cliché that in our society only the rich get richer while the poor just get the shaft and are forced to exist on the scraps and crumbs so cavalierly and arrogantly tossed to them by evil, wealthy Capitalists. You know, the old let them eat cake scenario. The problem with that scenario is that under Capitalism the poor can indeed eat their cake along with their ice cream and hot fudge to boot! You see, wealth generation doesn’t mean the generation of wealth only for those who are wealthy but it, “encompasses wealth for everyone and generally means that as a nation we have a higher standard of living. Those with low incomes have the chance to get better job opportunities.” Additionally, most Americans are acutely aware that the, “wealthiest nations have better infrastructure, stronger buildings, safer drinking water, and other critical benefits compared to poor nations. There’s significant research that indicates that wealthy nations also are better stewards of the environment.”(see related video)

The author correctly explains that these and other societal benefits are obviously positive but notes that there remains a persistent misconception, “that capitalism benefits only individuals and businesses and, therefore, serves no benefit to the society as a whole.” This misconception is no mere mistake or misunderstanding of Capitalism but has been purposely and maliciously foisted on the American people from kindergarten through university. Our young are bombarded with constant lies regarding the world’s most successful and beneficent economic-social system from those in the fields of education, art, the Liberal wing of our political system, and the news media. By the time these folks reach high school and college age, Liberalism and Socialism have become their religion and they have been so brainwashed and bamboozled that one cannot help but fear for the future of the nation. The author concludes by noting that there’s, “no need to defend capitalism, although, unfortunately, there seems to be a need to remind Americans why capitalism is moral. It’s the economic system that respects individuals and individual rights. It’s the economic system that’s pro-consumer and makes it possible for goods and services to be affordable to people at even the lowest income levels. It’s the economic system that generates the most wealth and improves the standard of living for all citizens. Socialism is none of these things.”

The fact that Free Market Capitalism is absolutely essential for human progress can be denied by only those here and abroad who have vested interests in other systems like Communism, Socialism, Fascism, and Tin-Horn Dictatorshipism that would deny captive populations the dignity and hope of freedom and prosperity. The leadership wants all the goodies while the citizenry remains locked in desperate misery, grinding poverty and sickness, and very short life spans. Our current Disaster-in-Chief began to display his Socialist predilections and preferences early on and made it clear that he intended to grow government beyond anything Americans have ever experienced. He clearly desired the destruction of Capitalism and the freedom and wealth it creates and the introduction of full-blown Socialism. He was warned to veer off that path and was told it was simply not the way forward and would only create misery and destruction. Who sent this dire and prophetic warning? Was it us evil Right Wing Conservatives who cling to our God, Guns, and Religion? Well, yes.

We, of course, didn’t expect The Bamster to heed a warning from us and he didn’t. We did, however, think that there might be a chance of his taking warnings from others just a tad more seriously. We felt it might just be possible that he would heed those who had lived and still live under Socialism. He was warned by former states of the failed Soviet Union, including Russia, that this was not the road to tread because it would lead to disaster. Communist China, of all places, warned Barry Boy not to contemplate that path of utter chaos and destruction. After all, who would know better? Both China and Russia, by the way, have loosened up quite a bit and allowed elements of Capitalism to rear its head and both nations have become more prosperous than they ever were during the old regimes. Many of the socialized, sissified, feminized, and Muslimized nations of Western Europe followed suit. They too warned our Pretender-in-Chief not to imitate or initiate their costly and crippling examples. All for naught. You see, our sorry excuse of a leader is nothing if not a true believer. Not a believer in America and its greatness and not a believer in American Exceptionalism. He also doesn’t believe in Capitalism or the American people. He is an utter, out and out, full-blown Socialist determined to saddle this nation with that failed ideology. It’s been proven to bring nothing but misery, death, destruction, and ruination one hundred percent of the time. Why? It is completely contrary to human nature and therefore can’t possibly succeed. It relies on force and coercion which free people instinctively resist and yet this is the road he travels.

The only way to thwart his plans and those of the entire LFE in this country is to continue to educate our citizens, and especially our young, as to the benefits of Free Market Capitalism. The Center for the Advancement of Capitalism does exactly that. These folks as well as most sane, fair-minded, and realistic citizens fully comprehend that the free market is unrivaled in its ability to increase prosperity, promote wealth, and fulfill the promise of maximizing the nation’s general welfare. While Free Market Capitalism has indeed become the single greatest economic system ever known to man this, unfortunately, “has not led to the triumph of capitalism.” An article entitled, “The Moral Basis of Capitalism (wwww.capitalismcenter.org),” correctly maintains that current political policies all but deny this obvious fact because, “Federal taxes as a percentage of gross domestic product are at their highest levels since the Second World War, antitrust assaults on the market winners are growing, the regulations on the federal register continue to expand by 60,000 pages per year,” and, “even the Republicans recent tax cut proposal would only mandate a minor decrease in the projected growth of government revenue.” Author Robert W. Tracinski correctly posits that by, “practically every measure, government interference in the free market is growing.”

He’s dead on right and it doesn’t seem to matter which party is in power. Spending by both Democrats and Republicans seems to grow no matter which group of clowns holds the reins of power. Republicans as a general rule seem to spend a bit less of our money than do their rivals but nonetheless, it seems that spend they must! The only folks that seem to get it are the Conservatives as evidenced by such unfairly maligned groups like the Tea Party Patriots (see the Tea Party Movement Rant of 8/19/11). I’ve read credible studies and proposals that suggest that if either party would just keep holding the tax and spend line to last year’s budget – and the year doesn’t really matter – we’d save something like one trillion dollars per annum and that would finally do something concrete about reversing our humongous and obscene debt and deficit debacle! Is this really too damned much to ask or expect? Apparently, the inside the beltway mob is convinced that it is.

The author of the piece asks a particularly relevant and piercing question when he queries that if, “capitalism is recognized as the only practical economic system – then why is it losing out to state control?” Why indeed? It appears that Capitalism is losing because our nation, since at least the 1960’s, has been controlled by statists. You know, those Big Government Nanny State types who advocate and champion concepts like central planning, collectivism, and wealth confiscation and redistribution. Since they know full well that as an economic system, Capitalism is without peer then their rationale must be rooted in an ideology that is literally antithetical to traditional American values like rugged individualism, self-reliance, and a supreme confidence in and optimism for the future. There can be no other explanation than this. They want to tear America apart, destroy the blue print for success that we have created, and reduce us to the level of all the other failed Socialist states that litter the landscape of world history.

The reason for the statist ascendancy, according to Tracinski, is that what virtually no one seems to be able to grasp, “is that capitalism is not just practical but also moral. Capitalism is the only system that fully allows and encourages the virtues necessary for human life. It is the only system that safeguards the freedom of the independent mind and recognizes the sanctity of the individual.” This seems to embody the epitome of morality and no other economic-social system can possibly make this claim for all the rest are based on coercion and the use of force. In fact, the rewards of Free Market Capitalism fall as much into the realm of morality as they do into the practical, inventive, and life-enhancing because every, “product that sustains and improves human life is made possible by the thinking of the world’s creators and producers. We enjoy an abundance of food because scientists have discovered more efficient methods of agriculture such as fertilization and crop rotation. We enjoy a lifespan double that of the pre-industrial era thanks to advances in medical technology, from anti-biotics to X-rays to biotechnology, discovered by doctors and researchers.” Additionally, we “enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, the speed of airline transportation, the easy access to information made possible by the World Wide Web – because scientists and inventors have made the crucial mental connection necessary to create those products.” Capitalism and the profit motive have raised and ameliorated the quality of human existence to almost magical levels and yet there are still blind dunderheads out there who deny the ultimate morality of Free Market Capitalism.

The piece continues that the, “essence of capitalism is that it bans the use of physical force and fraud in men’s economic relationships. All decisions are to be left to the free market – that is, to the uncoerced decisions of buyers and sellers, manufacturers and distributors, employers and employees. The first rule of capitalism is that everyone has a right to dispose of his own life and property according to his own judgment.” Compare this superb system to any other on the planet and they all fall short. In fact, Capitalism seems to be the only socio-economic system rooted in morality and without a moral basis it becomes merely one more example of a failed attempt to coerce and force entire populations to the will of an elite few. Without a basis in morality, Capitalism becomes merely an empty and hollow quest for things and possessions. Because it is a supremely moral system, Capitalism is extraordinarily uplifting, hopeful, and optimistic. It enables those blessed enough to live and work under its auspices the ability to realize their full potential and simultaneously serve humanity like no other system the world has ever seen.

Capitalism has too often and falsely been condemned for its supposed emphasis on selfishness and self-interest. Those who criticize these two utterly necessary traits lack even the most rudimentary concept of human nature. All six billion of us who share this planet always act in accordance with what is in our own self-interest uppermost in mind. Only those who are forced to endure life in a totalitarian, dictatorial regime are forced to do otherwise. In a system in which one is forcefully denied the freedom and opportunity to act in accordance with what matters to them first we see the enslavement of humanity to the bidding and whim of a remote, relentless, and all-controlling centralized authority that by its very nature and definition is the antithesis of freedom. In a Free Market Capitalist system, however, “everyone is driven by his own ambition for wealth and success.” In addition, no one “may demand the work, effort, or money of another without offering to trade something of value in return. If both parties to the trade don’t expect to gain, they are free to go elsewhere.”

This concept is routinely labeled as selfish or self-serving by those Liberal Numb Nuts on the Far Left, “yet to say that people are acting selfishly is to say that they take their own lives seriously, that they are exercising their right to pursue their own happiness.” The writer continues that by, “contrast, project what it would mean to exterminate self-interest and force everyone to work for goals mandated by the state.” Think about that for a moment because most of humanity has and still does live exactly that way. It means an end to all personal choice and the death of freedom – all freedom of any kind. This is completely antithetical to human nature, for man’s natural yearning is to exist in a state of freedom. Other systems are, “based on the premise that no one owns his own life, that the individual is merely a tool to be exploited for the ends of society.” Mr. Tracinski correctly posits that a, “system that sacrifices the self to society is a system of slavery – and a system that sacrifices thinking to coercion is a system of brutality.” Additionally, this constitutes the, “essence of any anti-capitalist system, whether communist or fascist. And ‘mixed’ systems such as today’s regulatory and welfare state, merely unleash the same evils on a smaller scale.”

Obama and the current crop of the LFE represent only the latest incarnation of the system of slavery that goes by the name of Socialism. They are fully cognizant of the fact that what they desire and represent is the death of freedom and the abandonment of all individual choice for the greater, collective good. They are Statists in the extreme and will go to any and all lengths to impose their will and ideology on the rest of us no matter how much we object and regardless of the detrimental effects this will have for the nation’s future. They are anti-Capitalist because they are anti-American. To hear them proclaim their love of country and patriotism while they mindfully and purposefully destroy the very institutions and underpinnings that made America the greatest country that God ever gave mankind is supremely and superbly oxymoronic. They know full-well that only, “capitalism renounces these evils entirely. Only capitalism is fully true to the moral ideal stated in the Declaration of Independence: the individual’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Only capitalism protects the individual’s freedom of thought and his right to his own life,” and “only when these ideals are once again taken seriously will we be able to recognize capitalism, not as a necessary evil, but as a moral ideal.”

This brings us right back to that most current example of the anti-Capitalists in our midst, those grungy Bastards who constitute the Occupy Wall Street Mob. Make no mistake, for they are nothing more than a mob of mainly young, spoiled, well to do, middle class, whining, arrogant, thankless, clueless, and law-breaking anarchist wannabe’s. They are too stupid and ignorant to comprehend that it is Free Market Capitalism that allows them the wherewithal and the freedom to behave as they do. They seem to have no real understanding of what their goals are or how to achieve them. The food they consume, the paper and markers used to make their signage, the bathrooms in which they relieve themselves, the clothes they wear, the dope they smoke, the condoms they wear while publicly fornicating, and anything else you can think of are made possible only because of Free Market Capitalism. They have no grasp of this and certainly can’t fathom that what they take for granted, what they have become so accustomed to is due only to our economic system which affords them the free time to make utter and complete damned fools of themselves at our expense.

One Gary Wolfram wrote a piece entitled, “Occupy Wall Street Crowd Blind to Benefits of Capitalism (www.freerepublic.com).” He points out that the, “Wall Street protestors, in their hatred of capitalism, overlook things including the fact that over the last 100 years capitalism has reduced poverty more and increased life expectancy more than in the 100,000 years prior.” These ungrateful, spoiled sonsabitches all, “enjoy using their iPhones, indoor plumbing, central heating, refrigeration and electric lighting. All of those things are available to the average person in America today and none of them were available to the aristocracy when the West operated under the feudal system.”

Do you think these utterly pathetic scum-dogs appreciate any of this or the fact that men have died defending this system that they seem to find so unjust and unfair. The author asks how, “is it that for thousands of years mankind made very little progress in increasing the standard of living and yet today half of the goods and services you use in the next week did not exist when I was a boy?” He answers that the, “advent of market capitalism in the mid 18th century made all of the difference,” and he’s one hundred percent on the mark! He advises that the, “Occupy Wall Street movement would make best use of its time and energy in protesting the encroachment of the centrally planned state that led to the disaster of the Soviet Union, fascist Germany, and dictatorial North Korea.”

This is exactly what this mob wants, desires, and requires along with the rest of the LFE parasites that reside in our nation and if they are successful, they will have been a major factor in the complete destruction of the United States!

Much Luv Y’all and Have a Great Day!

The American Exceptionalism Rant

The United States of America has frequently been referred to as an exceptional nation and is thought to be exactly that by, not surprisingly, the vast majority of American citizens as well as by the millions upon millions of folks clamoring to get here from literally every other country on the planet. Most of us I believe are unabashedly proud of our country’s accomplishments especially in light of the fact that from a historical perspective, we are still so very, very young. We recognize with pride that we are qualitatively different and, dare I say it, superior to virtually all other countries on the planet. Well, how’s that for the height of hubris and political incorrectness? How’s that for the ultimate in American bragadociousness? Do statements like these endear us to our neighbors around the world or do they merely reinforce the old stereotype that we are no more than pushy, conceited, self-centered hicks, louts, and boobies from the world’s hinterland? Are we just “young pups” flexing our over developed muscles and egos in the hope of countering our image as the most unsophisticated, uncultured, and grossly materialistic entity in world history?

Much if not all of the world seems to hold these extremely low and negative views regarding the United States and take great delight in letting us know in no uncertain terms exactly how we are perceived. We make our global neighbors, to say the least, feel uncomfortable and inadequate. By looking at us, their own failures and comparative lack of progress are brought to the forefront and are brutally unmasked by the harsh and glaring light of truth. They look at our history and accomplishments and clearly see what could have been. It’s not unlike meeting an individual who we see as obviously superior to ourselves. Many, if not most of us, begin to feel quite uncomfortable in their presence and we become somewhat jealous and resentful even though they have done nothing to earn such opprobrium. It appears to be a natural human trait and one that is difficult to suppress. All of this can easily be borne out by simply viewing the antics displayed at any gathering of the United Nations General Assembly. These guys constitute no more than an anti-American, anti-Western club whose membership may accurately be described as a rogue’s gallery of the world’s leading, most banal, and venal Thugocracies (see the United Nations Rant of 12/22/08).

The above noted views of America, however, are not merely held by those from other nations. Unfortunately, a not insignificant number of our own citizens feel the same way. They are ashamed of their own country and are convinced that any success the United States has achieved is illegitimate, undeserved, and comes at the expense of the globe’s less fortunate and weaker populations – especially third world “people of color.” We are viewed by these Americans as rapacious, racist, callous, and cold. We are accused of stealing and looting the planet’s natural resources for our own selfish purposes thus preventing the rightful owners from using them to ameliorate the horrific conditions that they find themselves in. That’s obviously our fault and we must be forced to right these wrongs we have purposely inflicted on the poor and less fortunate denizens of the planet. I’m sure you have heard the charge, for example, that we have gone to war for such things as oil and have brutally stolen that precious commodity on a planetary scale. As diligenyl as I have tried, I cannot for the life of me discover any hard, or soft, evidence to support such a claim. I’ll just have to dig deeper.

Americans who feel this way are not difficult to find (see The Americans Who Hate America Rant of 1/21/11). Just walk onto any college campus or for that matter any high school and you’ll be inundated with anti-Americanism for it’s become the predominant culture of so-called academe (see The Anti-Americanism In Our Public Schools Rant). The “Lamestream Media” is overwhelmingly of this persuasion. Hollywood and the entertainment field in general contain more examples of these types of “Americans” than you could possibly swing a dead cat at and all of the above are members of what I call the LFE (Liberal Fucking Elite).

They seem to take some form of perverse pleasure in denying America’s historically and overwhelmingly positive role over the centuries and that without the United States the world would be a far lesser place. This country in just over two hundred years has amassed more wealth and power than any other in world history. Is this what makes America so exceptional? No, of course not. All ages and eras have their wealthy and their powerful. It’s always been that way and probably always will. No, our power and wealth do not define the concept of American Exceptionalism, but rather how we have used them. Historically, the world’s most powerful and wealthy nations have used these attributes to dominate and subjugate as much of the planet as they could for as long as they could. The peoples and places they controlled suffered horrendously and immeasurably and the cruelties that they endured are literally unfathomable to folks like us who have grown up in freedom and prosperity.

The United States, conversely, has used its vast wealth and power to liberate rather than subjugate, to enrich the lives of others rather than to destroy them. Yeah, yeah, I know. I can hear it coming. What about such things as slavery – huh, what about that!?! Nice try, Sport, but that bird don’t fly and that mule don’t plow! I am not referring here to American Perfectionism but rather to American Exceptionalism. There is a huge difference. We never have been nor will we ever be perfect for the very real reason that perfection is unattainable at least for us mere mortals. Yes, we had slavery and we treated those poor folks in a horrific, brutal, and inhumane fashion. The question is, do we still have slavery today? Thank you, for that is but one example of American Exceptionalism. Unlike most of the world, we are capable and willing to recognize and rectify our past mistakes and misdeeds. Yes, we held slaves, it was wrong, we realized it, and it’s gone! That’s been and still is a very rare, rare commodity in world history. Care for but one more example? Certainly. I’m sure you’re aware that at one point in American history, women couldn’t vote. You did know that didn’t you? That was wrong and it’s gone. Our willingness to right past wrongs that we perpetrated on undeserving others absolutely sets us apart and above from most of the world’s history and that is indeed exceptional.

Additionally, one of our most outstanding characteristics as a nation has been to defend freedom all over the globe whenever and wherever necessary. We did not have to do this. We paid a terrible and awesome price in both treasure and American lives to set people free. Even the most cursory examination of just the Twentieth Century more than bears out that statement. We have liberated more people than any other force in the history of the world. Hell, we even liberated our own slaves! With the very brief example of our own foray into imperialism beginning in 1898, the only land we have ever asked for from other countries is enough to bury our dead soldiers in the far off places they fought and died defending the freedom of others. Without our sacrifices, much more of the world would be speaking either German or Japanese today. I’d call that pretty damned exceptional, wouldn’t you?

Many who hear and read statements like those offered above view them negatively, to say the least. They view those who make them as archaic and anachronistic. They are seen as evidence of a false and misplaced pride that goes far beyond mere nationalism but rather as full-blown jingoism. Those of us who feel this way about our country are seen as out of step with the world-wide Liberal emphasis on Globalism and One-Worldism. They are convinced that the concept of the nation-state is at the very least passé, outmoded, and not just useless but rather dangerous in the 21st Century. It is out-moded, and horribly old fashioned in our fast-paced, complex, and interconnected world.

These are the same Far Left Lunatics who eschew the concepts of national sovereignty and the sanctity of well defined and defended national borders. They see themselves as citizens of the world and not of any particular country. They owe their loyalty, their fealty as it were, to international organizations like the United Nations and the World Court. They ridicule and mock notions or ideas like patriotism and love of and loyalty to country. These are the pathetic folks who decry, denounce, and disdain concepts like American Exceptionalism.

The on-line encyclopedia, Conservapedia (www.conservapedia.com), defines American Exceptionalism as, “an intuition about the United States, a country that occupies a special place among the nations of the world primarily because of its unique origins.” Furthermore, the “concept of American Exceptionalism may be defined as the notion that the United States, by virtue of its origins and ideals, its struggles and accomplishments, stands apart from and, in some eyes, above other nations.” Another on-line source explains that, “”American exceptionalism refers to the theory that the United States is qualitatively different from other states. In this view, America’s exceptionalism stems from its emergence from a revolution, becoming the first new nation, and developing a uniquely American ideology, based on liberty, egalitarianism, individualism, populism, and laissez-faire (http://en.wikipedia.org).” (see related video)

The same source notes historian Gordon Wood as saying, “our belief in liberty, equality, constitutionalism, and the well-being of ordinary people came out of the Revolutionary era. So too did our idea that we Americans are a special people with a special destiny to lead the world toward liberty and democracy.” Read that last sentence again – slowly. Good. Can anyone seriously doubt its veracity? Not if you’re honest about what America has meant to the world. The revolution we began in 1776 served as an example to be emulated all over the world. The French, those folks in Latin and South America, the Russians, and even the Chinese followed us and overthrew those who kept them in chains. The results in each of these nations may not have been similar or equal to ours, but nonetheless our example served to set them free. We have indeed led the world in liberty and democracy and we have been a special people with a special destiny. (see related video)

One Seymour Martin Lipset, a leading scholar in the field of American Exceptionalism, defined the term as, “liberty, equality (of opportunity and respect), individualism, populism, and laissez-faire economics. The creed combines with other aspects of the American character – especially our religiousness and our willingness to defend ourselves by force – to form the core of American Exceptionalism.” America is, in fact, far different and a definite cut above the other nations that cohabit the planet with us and we have always invited them to share our experiences, our prosperity, and our purpose. That purpose has always been to make the world a better place and to allow all individuals no matter who they are or where they are from to reach their full potential and level of excellence. We welcome this and are happy and proud to serve as an example for others to learn from. We want and desire this for by following our example the world will become a far better, wealthier, healthier, and happier place. The deadly divisions that have so often ravaged the world will, over time, grow ever more distant if more of planet’s population were allowed to adopt our exceptional model. After all, you really can’t argue with success and by any objective or subjective standard you wish to apply, America is the most successful sovereign entity in world history.

Does this sound overly “Americanish” to you? Does this go too far over the top? Does it sound bragadocious? Does it sound dismissive of the accomplishments of other nations and people? If you answered yes to these queries, then may I suggest that you are a denier of American Exceptionalism, that you are in fact embarrassed by America’s astonishing success without which the world would be in far worse shape than it is now. The definitions of American Exceptionalism proffered thus far are not meant to belittle or detract from other nations and peoples. Instead, they are meant to serve as a beacon, as a light that shines through the darkness to illuminate the path to a better, more prosperous, and more satisfying destination. To those of you who answered these questions in the affirmative, I can only conclude that you are embarrassed by America’s accomplishments and historical role in the world. I am convinced that you agree with our LFE and our current political leadership that believes America has been a force for evil in the world and that we should abandon our position of leadership and ceaselessly and constantly apologize to the world for our very existence. If you have concluded that I’m being just a tad judgmental here, I congratulate you on your perceptiveness!

When one claims to be exceptional, then much is expected of you and that statement applies to nations as well as individuals. This country has never fallen short of these expectations but instead America has always risen to every challenge it has ever faced. While it is certainly easy to point to examples of our technological and material success, these cannot come without a firm basis or foundation and in that regard America is indeed exceptional. In an article entitled, “American Exceptionalism and Its Enemies (http://newledger.com),” the author posits that the, “United States is an exceptional nation. Most Americans would not regard that as a controversial statement. And there is good reason : it is true.” The author goes on to say that the, “U.S. is the world’s oldest and most stable capitalist, liberal democracy, older even than Great Britain, which did not become a mass democracy until the late Nineteenth Century.” The writer informs us that America, “was the first nation founded in an act of rebellion against a colonial power. It was the first nation founded on the belief that the rights of man are inherent and God-given, and that the powers of government derive from the consent of the governed.” Now that’s one Hell of a first! Concepts like that had never been heard and articulated before this nation proclaimed them from the highest mountain.

Additionally it, “was, therefore, the first nation to recognize that the state must be limited to the powers granted by the people, and to recognize explicitly that the state was founded to secure their rights.” In fact, “Ours was the first nation to be based on a separation of powers, and on the clear subordination of the military to civilian rule. And it was the first nation to state all of this in a constitution that was publicly debated and democratically accepted.” Indeed, “the U.S. exemplifies these virtues in their purest form. That is why it is exceptional.” This is the foundation that truly set men free. For the first time in the history of the planet, the heretofore all powerful state and rulers wore the shackles rather than the individuals being governed. This was absolutely and utterly radical and revolutionary for its time. The founding of the United States liberated man’s potential and freed him from the chains of authoritarianism. This foundation more than anything else freed the individual to follow his or her dreams and rise as far as their talents, capability, and energy could take them. This foundation set free the entrepreneurial spirit for which this nation is so famous and which accounted for America’s becoming the wealthiest and freest society in the history of the planet!

To many, American Exceptionalism translates into the concept of American Conceit. Other nations and peoples view us as pushy, arrogant upstarts who are in reality still wet behind the ears. We have not been around long enough, in their view, to have earned our high opinions of ourselves and we apparently do not comprehend the practice of deferring to our elders if not our betters. That other countries and people may hold this negative opinion is perhaps understandable. The fact is, however, that far too many native born citizens share this view. Due to no more than an accident of birth, they live in the wealthiest, most powerful, freest, and most benevolent society to have ever existed in the history of the planet. To see and hear these scurrilous buffoons denigrate and castigate the United States at every turn for everything is baffling, shocking, and in many ways horrifying. It belies both the facts and all sense of logic and common sense. It reeks of an amazing lack of gratitude for those who came before us and led the foundations for America’s fantastic progress over the years. It is an embarrassing and shameful display of a bite-the-hand-that-feeds-you mentality which is entirely wrong-headed and undeserved. Who are these folks? Generally speaking, we call them Liberals and it seems that one of their main priorities is to deny and then destroy the creed of American Exceptionalism.

These people seem to be particularly dissatisfied with their lot in life and literally despise all those they perceive as having more than they do. They view any material success obtained by others as having been unfairly and ruthlessly obtained by stealing from those at the bottom. They are incapable of looking inward and reflecting on their own short comings or to recognize that it is their own poor decisions and mistakes that have prevented them from realizing what they claim is their due. They are champions of a redistributionist mentality which can only serve to exacerbate and intensify their own failures and forever reinforces the envy, jealousy, and even hatred for what this country stands for. They are the central proponents and primary examples of the vile class warfare that is best exemplified by those of the Far Left Liberal Elite. They will not rest or be satisfied until everyone is brought down to their pathetic level until literally no one person shall have anymore than anyone else. They are nothing more than full-blown Socialists who simply cannot recognize or accept the fact that Socialism has failed everywhere and every time it’s ever been tried. They are nonetheless devotees of this system because they have proven to themselves over and over again that they simply lack the skills, energy, and intellect to compete in our Free Market Capitalist system. Rather than blame themselves, they blame those who have succeeded.

This attitude, curiously enough, can also be said to be an element of the concept of American Exceptionalism. An aspect of its material manifestation is that the individual can rise to that level he is capable of attaining but there are no guarantees of outcome. In our system, you have an absolute right to succeed and to that end government should facilitate your efforts. It should not, as it has under Liberalism, throw more and more roadblocks in your way. The government should get the Hell out of your way to go about your life as best you can so you can succeed – or fail – on your own. In our country, you see, while you have the right to succeed you also have an absolute right to fail. Does that sound somewhat strange to you? When looking at world history, it might seem so for in most societies failure was indeed not an option and it simply wouldn’t be tolerated. When the powers that be demanded something from citizens, failure could be a deadly business and usually was. The right to fail, then, is exceptionally American and therefore part of the concept of American Exceptionalism.

The Liberals amongst us want to change all of this. They emphatically desire to destroy any vestige of American Exceptionalism and have come dangerously close to succeeding in recent years. An article entitled, “An Exceptional Debate (www.nationalreview.com),” begins by explaining that, “Our country has always been exceptional. It is free, more individualistic, more democratic, and more open and dynamic than any other nation on earth. These qualities are the bequest of our Founding Fathers and of our cultural heritage. They have always marked America as special, with a unique role and mission in the world: as a model of ordered liberty and self-government and as an exemplar of freedom and a vindicator of it, through persuasion when possible and force of arms when absolutely necessary.” The authors, however, note that under our current leadership the, “level of spending, the bailouts, and the extent of the intervention in the economy contemplated in health-care and cap-and-trade legislation have created the fear that something elemental is changing in the country. At stake isn’t just a grab bag of fiscal issues, but the meaning of America and the character of its people: the ultimate cultural issue.”

The American people are correct in their fear that something elemental is changing our country and this is no accident but rather part of a long-held and adhered to battle plan to destroy the United States as presently constituted and envisioned by our Founders. The LFE and their hordes want to destroy our very Founding notions of a limited government with only a very few and clearly delineated set of powers. They knew first hand how crippling and deadly an overreaching and all powerful central government is to the very concept of liberty which stands as the cornerstone of what many call the American Creed. The Founders clearly, “knew what men were capable of, in the positive sense if their creative energies were unleashed and in the negative sense if they were given untrammeled power over others.” It is the “untrammeled” aspect of power that makes the Liberal Statists among us salivate excitedly and this is their ultimate goal.

They wish to see a government that literally seeks to control all aspects of the lives of the citizenry which will obviously destroy our liberties and freedoms. This is their primary agenda. The Founding Fathers understood that by its very nature government tries to centralize more and more power unto itself and they also had extremely keen insights into human nature. James Madison wrote in Federalist No. 51 that it, “may be a reflection on human nature . . . that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature. If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither would government be necessary.”

Our Founders purposely limited the power of government to protect America’s newly won liberties and freedoms and this is what the Liberals-Statists amongst us want desperately to destroy for in a very real way they constitute a central tenet of American Exceptionalism. What these saboteurs completely fail to comprehend is that, “In the latitude provided by this relatively light-handed government, a commerce-loving, striving, and endlessly inventive people hustled its way to become the greatest economic power the world has ever known.” This characteristic of American Exceptionalism is but one more of America’s accomplishments that the Liberals can’t abide. Other exceptional aspects of the United States identified by the authors include: our attitudes toward wealth and its creation; the fact that at least 31 percent of Americans expect to become rich; the fluidity of American society as evidenced by the fact that more than half of those in the bottom quintile pull themselves out of it within a decade. In addition, “Politically, we have always been more democratic, more populist than other countries.” Furthermore, we, “have managed to preserve a remarkable national spirit,” and, “Americans are more religious than Europeans.” The authors conclude that, “All of this means that America has the spirit of a youthful, hopeful, developing country, matched with the economic muscle of the world’s most advanced society and the stability of its oldest democratic institutions.”

Yeah, I’d call all that and more pretty damned exceptional. So how do those on the Far Left and their Grand Poobah-in-Chief react to all of this exceptionalism? According to the Bastards, “America was special only in its misdeeds and failings; all cultures were to be celebrated except our own.” They have “worked to trash our Founding, to wipe out our historical memory, and to create a guilty conscience among our ruling elite.” El Jefe himself, “has signaled again and again his unease with traditional American patriotism. As a Senator he notoriously made a virtue of not wearing a flag pin. As president he has been unusually detached from American history.” Additionally, he “has all but denied the idea that America is an exceptional nation. Asked whether he believed in American Exceptionalism during a European trip last spring, Obama said, ‘I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.” Yeah, this guy is just a great example of a proud, confident American who truly believes that America has been an overwhelming force for good in the world, isn’t he? Does this nonsense coming from an American President disturb you just a bit? It shouldn’t based on who the guy is for, “Given the liberal gestalt, it is perhaps unsurprising that every aspect of American exceptionalism has been under threat from President Obama and his allies in Washington. Obama has frankly and correctly described their project as one to change the country fundamentally,” and even on, “those occasions when Obama places himself in the context of American history . . . with, that is, the gradual replacement of the Founders’ design. He seeks to accelerate it.”

Why would any segment of our population want to deny the obvious exceptionalism of an obviously exceptional nation? On its face, this makes absolutely no sense at all. These folks constitute, it seems to me, a growing segment of our society’s disaffected and disillusioned who seem to feel that they are somehow owed something by somebody. Our elected officials who pander to this mob are merely looking for votes and therefore qualify as nothing more than political whores. They don’t stand on principle for they are completely unprincipled. They can’t fall back on logic or reason because they are wholly illogical and overwhelmingly unreasonable. Guys like me are constantly baffled, amazed, and confused by their lack of understanding of what America is and what it represents. We view them as completely unpatriotic and as traitors to the American Dream. They are, in effect, life’s losers and therefore can’t abide by or deal with life’s winners.

You know, those of us out here that believe in the ideal of the United States and are willing and eager to live that American Dream. Those of us who work our asses off to provide our families with what they need and desire. Those of us who fully understand that America does not and cannot guarantee success but only the opportunity to succeed and that has always been our nation’s most singular success. This concept exists in far too few places around the world and, it seems, that the Liberals amongst us want to destroy it here too. There are those of us out here who want nothing from government: we want no hand-outs, no bail-outs, no stimulus deals, and no entitlements. We want government to behave strictly and only according to the tenets and restrictions set forth in our Founding Documents and that’s ALL we want and expect from our government!

Not so for those on the Dark Side. They want and need government to provide them with everything from cradle to grave. They want to live a life free of all risk yet they insist that they deserve any reward they feel entitled to. They don’t recognize the concept of American Exceptionalism nor do they believe that this nation has been anything but a force for evil in the world and that without the United States the planet’s population would be better off and far more sanguine. These folks want and need to be controlled by an all powerful Nanny State that relieves them of life’s responsibilities for they are fully cognizant of the fact that they are simply incapable of succeeding on their own. They are afraid of even trying but rather have surrendered to the lure of the comfort provided by the soft tyranny of Big Brother.

They deny that anything like American Exceptionalism even exists for they themselves do not qualify as Americans, not in the true sense of the word. They completely deny and eschew such defining aspects of Americanism like self-reliance and rugged individualism. And they WHINE! Americans do not whine because whiners never accomplish anything. Whiners don’t work, don’t innovate, don’t contribute, and don’t succeed! They whine. Americans do not whine, they get things done – amazing things – as long as the damned government behaves itself, gets the Hell out of the way, and leaves us alone!

Members of the LFE like Obama are positively embarrassed by America and those who I term real Americans. In fact, “Obama is turning his back on the overarching vision of freedom,” that this nation has always stood proudly for. Indeed, that vision has become synonymous with the United States of America. He is positively loathe to advocate American ideals and a, “deep naiveté informs his policy. He believes that our enemies can be persuaded, merely through sweet talk and blandishments, to abandon their cold-blooded interests and their most deeply held ambitions.” In fact, “under the sway of Obama’s anti-idealism, the U.S. is less interested in serving as a champion of liberty, his policies will also reduce our power, and thus our effectiveness should we choose to wield it again.” This, of course, is exactly the point. Reducing, if not completely destroying, our power and effectiveness is now and has always been at the heart of the Liberal Playbook. This has been the case for at least half a century and Obama and his minions represent just more of the same. The major difference today for those of us deemed to be Evil Right Wingers is that this time they damned well may succeed in achieving their dream of destroying this country!

The authors of the piece cited above correctly recognize that in, “many of Obama’s performances overseas . . . there has been a dismaying defensiveness. It’s almost as though he doesn’t think we deserve to stand up for our ideals or for our interests, and he believes that our record of sins, hypocrisies, and affronts make a posture of apologetic passivity the only appropriate one. This posture raises a disturbing possibility: that the waning of America’s self-confidence is part and parcel of the change Obama is effecting.” Possibility, my sorry old ass! It’s part of his Liberal game plan and psyche. The article notes what is going on in Europe and seems to imply, I think correctly, that the same fate awaits America if the Charlatan-in-Chief is granted another term. They explain that in, “Europe we see a civilization that is not willing to defend itself: nations that will surrender their sovereignty, cultures that will step aside to be supplanted by an alien creed, people that will no longer make the most meaningful investment in the future by reproducing. There is a sense that history is over and Europeans are just waiting for someone to turn out the last light in the last gallery in the Louvre.” If that sounds just too apopoplectic for you and your initial reaction is something like that’ll never happen here, then remove your head from your ass and smell the freaking coffee! It is happening here. It’s being purposely foisted upon us, and is cause for celebration in the current Oval Office!

The idea of American Exceptionalism is not just some vague notion, some ethereal, lofty concept just floating around out there in the miasma. It is real, tangible, and palpable. It is something to be cherished, nurtured, and celebrated. It does in so many ways set us apart from the rest of the world and world history that it simply can’t be denied. It can be distorted, maligned, and corrupted as those on the Far Left have done for decades and continue to do. They seem quite uncomfortable and even threatened by its mere existence as well they should be. It constitutes a complete anathema in their collectivist, Socialist world view. That view encompasses an all-consuming arrogance and condescension that is utterly boundless. In their minds, America must be taken down a peg or fifty and we must be humbled and prostrated on the world stage. We must openly allocate to our crimes against our less fortunate neighbors and agree to be governed, as citizens of the world, by international organizations that are deemed more worthy and competent than our own unique and uniquely American institutions. They would have us abandon the idea of American Exceptionalism in favor of some kind of twisted, sick, and perverted concept of American Self-Flagalationism as we seek and beseech the world’s forgiveness and acceptance.

That there are citizens among us who actually advocate this course of action and mind-set is a clear signal that they have not one iota of a clue what American Exceptionalism is or what they would lose by its blind, unthinking abandonment. In a piece entitled, “Liberty and American Exceptionalism (www.huffingtonpost.com),” we are reminded that on the Fourth of July, “we don’t only celebrate the birth of our nation. We celebrate American exceptionalism – everything that makes the United States the greatest nation on earth.” The author also explains that in, “celebrating this, we reject President Obama’s blueprint for the kind of country he seeks to make us.” Author Ken Blackwell reminds us that all those years ago we, “we embarked on a grand experiment to form a self-governing democratic republic,” and the leaders of that movement, “were risking their lives. Had they failed, they would have been hanged as traitors, their lands confiscated by the Crown, their fortunes forfeited, and their families left disgraced and destitute.”

Yes, they risked it all and because they succeeded, “the freest, safest, and most prosperous nation in the world was born.” Blackwell notes that when we celebrate our independence, in fact, we celebrate everything for which the United States stands. We, “celebrate the right to speak what we will, no matter how unpopular, without fear of government reprisal. We celebrate our right to worship according to the dictates of our conscience. We celebrate our right to bear arms in defense of ourselves and our freedom.” Additionally, “we celebrate our right to be secure in our homes and our families, and should we become entangled with the law, our right not to be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process, which includes everything from our right to a jury trial, to our right to a lawyer, to our right not to incriminate ourselves or to be tortured.”

Look around the world. The vast majority of people on the planet today and throughout history do not and have not had these or any other rights. Can you possible imagine living your life without these rights quoted above? I know I can’t. Yet these damned saboteurs, these sonsabitches, who constitute the LFE would abandon them in a heartbeat. Why? In their warped vision of America’s future, they will be in charge of all of us little folk and all rights will emanate down from those at the top. They, therefore, will not need rights as we currently understand them and the rest of us will have our rights severely curtailed or destroyed. Ours will have become a government not of laws, but rather of government of whim! This is what they want and have been working so desperately to accomplish! As Blackwell notes, that while, “many of us take those rights for granted, the reality is that they are rare, both in history and even around the globe today.” We do and should celebrate American Exceptionalism and we should be inordinately proud of our exceptional achievements. We believe that, “America is something special. We are a shining beacon of light throughout the world and throughout the annals of history. We are the exception, not the rule.”

Those amongst us who deny the concept of American Exceptionalism have no idea of how really dangerous they are for they cannot fathom or possibly understand the consequences of their actions and attitudes. They are what might be termed as “presentists” who have only a sense of “self”. They have no grasp of history and how very unique America is not only as a place but as an idea and an ideal. They are completely incapable of placing American accomplishments within the context of how the world has operated within the last ten thousand or so years. The planet has always been ruled by the aggressive use of force, that is until we came along. We’re the reason that people world-wide have yearned to be free for that is man’s natural state. We are the example that all others have followed and still follow today. There has never been a nation like ours and I dare say, there never will be again.

Yeah, yeah, I know exactly how that sounds to those who deny and want to destroy the concept and fact of American Exceptionalism. It outrages and infuriates them. It causes them to gnash their teeth and rend their garments. They are enraged at the fact – and it is a fact - that the United States has been such a gift to the world and especially to those who have lived for thousands of years under the yoke of tyrants and dictators whose only claim to legitimacy has been the jack-boot of tyranny on the necks of the common citizen. For the first time in history, the world had another option. Oppressed peoples could come here and experience actual freedom as well as something else never before seen on the planet: a relatively benign government whose main duty was to safeguard the rights of citizens. Those that didn’t come here followed our example in their own countries and ended the tyranny that had enslaved them since the dawn of time. Our example actually made the tyrants of the world nervous and afraid. Now that’s truly exceptional!

An article entitled, “The Demise of American Exceptionalism (www.andyrutledge.com),” insists that, “The United States of America is currently in the throes of a civil war of sorts. There are facets and nuances to this war, but the fundamental conflict is between those fighting to preserve liberty and those fighting to expand the scope and reach of unmitigated tyranny.” Sadly, throughout history the latter has been the hands-down winner in this battle to the detriment of liberty and freedom. America, at least up until now, has once again been the singular exception but the vital issue is how much longer can and will this be the case in the face of the Liberal-Socialist onslaught we face? Author Andy Rutledge continues that the, “list of imperiled liberties, idea, definitions, obligations, industries, societal mechanisms, and constitutional foundations is long and growing almost daily, but there’s something more. There’s a growing threat to that which these precious and imperiled things comprise. At stake is nothing less than American exceptionalism.”

He’s right folks and sadly, he couldn’t be more right. We are in a war and that conflict is a culture war in which the stakes are nothing less than the meaning of America and the American ideal. To those of us who believe in the concept of American Exceptionalism, we realize that it’s extinction and demise does not merely have dire consequences for the United States but rather for the world as well. The author explains that, “Too many people in the U.S. and elsewhere lack any tangible grasp of what American exceptionalism means and what it means to the world.” He continues that without, “American exceptionalism, the world will become a comparatively dark place. Without American exceptionalism, human beings will be less than they are now and the world’s very definition of ‘hope’ will change to mean less than it does now. Yes, American exceptionalism is an imperative responsibility we hold not just to ourselves, but to all peoples of the world.”

Our country has always taken this “imperative responsibility” very seriously although we certainly didn’t have to. The fact that we felt and still feel an absolute obligation to spread the light of freedom beyond our own borders speaks to the altruism of the American ideal. We have always believed and acted upon the idea that freedom is not the province of but one people or one nation. We have always fought tyranny and repression wherever it reared its ugly visage and we continue to do so. It is, after all, our historic mission. The article continues that the, “United States of America has since its founding been the exception in the world. Our nation stands alone in the world in ways at which other nations can only marvel. Our society has long preserved individuals’ hope and opportunity to a degree that the rest of the world has never enjoyed.” I don’t believe that there exists any impartial observer of American history that can honestly and objectively argue with or deny these facts of America’s identity and character. Additionally, “No nation on earth has as its core such righteous indignation and intolerance towards tyranny, combined with wise provisions for the preservation of individual liberty, as does the United States of America. Our Constitution recognizes and preserves individual liberty to a degree found no where else in human history, and in this respect our nation stands alone as the lone exception in the world.”

Those members of the LFE in our country deny all of the above and more. They will never, ever admit that America is indeed both great and exceptional for they would immediately be stripped of their status as bona fide members of the Far Left and as true haters of their own country and its historic role. They have absolutely no appreciation nor use for the country that has provided them the tools and wherewithal to espouse views and actions that would have not all that long ago earned them the moniker of traitor! Do you think that they would agree with the idea and the fact that, “no nation in the history of human existence has shed so much of its own sons and daughters’ blood fighting to preserve and defend the freedom of peoples of other nations,”? You know the answer. Do you think for one moment that they appreciate the fact that, “Throughout history, we have rightly recognized that it is our responsibility to defend liberty worldwide, for those who possess the means have a moral responsibility to act in the face of evil”?

You know the answer to that too, because those Bastards believe that it is we who are evil and that we constitute nothing less than the world’s most malignant and deadly force ever known to human kind. And yes, they really do believe that. The author of the piece referenced above accurately notes that our, “force for good in the world has liberated millions upon millions of people from the crushing weight of tyranny. In this and so many other ways, we are the light of liberty the world looks to. It is no exaggeration to observe that but for the United States of America, terrible powers of evil and chaos would exercise their malevolent will throughout the world on a daily basis.”

Yes, America is and has always been an exceptional nation but we must seriously ask how much longer will it last? There are forces in our midst that are even now fervently plotting, planning, and working to bring this nation down and destroy the very concept of American Exceptionalism. These are the Liberals amongst us and they are deadly serious about destroying our nation as presently constituted and envisioned by our Founding Fathers all those years ago. Can they succeed? Rutledge notes, “Now, imagine the world without all of this; without the shining light of our nation’s example. Such a possibility should chill you to your core. Sadly, such a world may not be left merely to our imaginations for much longer. Our ongoing civil war poses the very real possibility that these and other facets of American exceptionalism will vanish. They are, in fact, vanishing at this moment – falling like dominos as the forces of tyranny work to reshape our nation, deny its heritage, and destroy its foundations.” You just might want to read that last again.

THE BLAMER-IN-CHIEF RANT

We have all encountered people who continually and constantly blame everyone else but themselves for their own failures, mistakes, and foibles. I’m sure we’re all guilty of this at some point because it’s really rather difficult and at times excruciatingly painful to look in the mirror and admit that, “Yeah, I really screwed that up big time and I’ve got no one to blame but myself!” This is not at all unusual in children because of an obvious and natural immaturity and the desire not to disappoint the adults in their lives. The young ‘uns need and seek acceptance and approval and to be honest, open, and up front about their mistakes is simply beyond their youthful capabilities. We’ve all heard the classic exchange between, for example, teacher and student. “Well, Johnny,” asks the teacher, “do you have your homework for me to check?” Johnny replies, “No miss. You see, my dog ate it.” Johnny knows he’s lying, the teacher knows he’s lying, and he knows that the teacher knows he’s lying, but he puts it out there anyway. Perhaps you may remember your mother yelling up at you while she’s preparing dinner, “Are you studying for that math test yet?” The child replies, “No, ‘cause Jaimie keeps bothering me and I can’t concentrate with the little brat making so much noise!”

Any of this sound familiar? Sure it does because at some point in our young lives we’ve all been there and done that. The vast majority of us, however, were taught that this kind of behavior is unacceptable and simply won’t do as we approach adulthood. The consequences of not accepting responsibility for our actions were graphically explained and illustrated. You either straighten up and fly right or you’re going to have some very negative and unflattering labels attached to you. People on both a personal and professional level will know that you cannot be trusted, that you are completely and hopelessly unreliable, and that you constantly lie, deceive, and dissemble. In the long run, if not the short term, you end up hurting not only yourself which, of course, is your choice and your right. You are also, however, hurting others from family to close friends, to those you work with, and even casual acquaintances. This is not your right and most of the time – but not always – it’ll come back at you and take a huge chunk right out of your ass!

To engage in this form of pathology is, of course, your decision but by the time we become mature adults, most of us absolutely and consciously go out of our way to avoid this behavior for we understand that it is purely self-destructive, completely unproductive, and in fact will bring us nothing but grief, pain, and misery. But hey, if that’s an experience you must absolutely have, then go for it! It’s quite another matter, however, when our elected leaders on the local, state, or national levels behave in this fashion for the consequences can be absolutely devastating for the entire country. They are not merely affecting their own lives but those of literally hundreds of millions of people. When the majority of the populace becomes convinced that they can no longer place even a minimal amount of trust in those they choose to govern the very existence of our representative republic is literally threatened. In a system such as ours, trust between governed and governor is the cement that binds our country and people together.

In the past and right up to the present, a lack of faith and trust in those who govern has led to large-scale death, destruction, and utter chaos. I give you, for example, our own American Revolution followed by the one in France only a few years later. Moving on, we witness the bloody upheavals in Latin America which ended imperial Spain’s presence in the western hemisphere. Look at the revolutions that occurred in Russia and China in the Twentieth Century and we’ll not even go near that total cluster fuck of the continent of Africa! Over the last number of centuries, a literal ocean of blood has been spilled because people lost all trust and faith in those who governed and indeed in the very system of government they were forced to endure. That is not to say that these revolutions were not justified because they were. Certainly, however, the vast excesses that accompanied them were not.

Over the course of just my lifetime, I’ve noticed a growing and very disturbing increase in the lack of trust and confidence more and more Americans place in our elected officials. And no, I’m not suggesting that the rift between those who govern and those who are governed is even remotely close to what was going on in Russia in 1917 or China in 1949. I’m not completely paranoid – yet. The lack of trust, however, definitely exists and is, in fact, palpable. It is also growing and simmering. What do you think gave rise to the modern-day militia movement or those Tea Party folks (see the Tea Party Movement Rant of 8/19/11 or the Oath Keepers Rant of 11/30/09)? Americans know that government in fact can’t be trusted but constitutes nothing more than a necessary evil that must be monitored ever so vigilantly. Our Founding Fathers knew and were extremely conscious of the fact that by its very nature government – all government at all times – tends to gather ever more power unto itself thereby leaving the people less and less freedom and liberty. This enduring feature of government must be guarded against and kept at bay.

Unfortunately for America, our 44th President simply cannot be trusted. As suggested above, anyone who constantly and consistently blames others for their own improvident decisions and actions and who lies as easily as he knots his tie is just not to be trusted! He can’t be trusted to fulfill his promises or uphold the Constitution he is sworn to defend. He can’t be trusted to lead this nation through the dire and perilous economic horror show which he and no one else (no, not even old G.W.) created and he certainly can’t be trusted to guide our Ship of State in an increasingly dangerous and troubled world. Yet, for all the damage he has done all he can manage to do is blame others for his own utter failures and then continually lie about his own culpability. He blames others and lies as naturally as a cat purrs or a dog barks. They can’t help it. It is in their nature and their DNA. It is exactly the same with our Blamer-In-Chief. He can’t help it. It’s in his nature. It’s no different than little Johnny and his homework eating hound! I don’t give a tinker’s damn if you are a Republican or a Democrat, a Conservative or Liberal, gay or straight, naughty or nice, a Yankee fan or a Red Sox fan – the man must not and cannot be trusted! To do so would be akin to trusting a guy enrolled in flight school but shows absolutely no interest in learning how to land the damned plane!

One John Lott penned an article entitled, “Obama blames everyone but himself for everything that goes wrong (http://johnrlott.com).” He asks how, “can Obama blame Bush for the deficits when the deficits are now four times higher than the highest that they ever got under his administration?” He continues that, “Then again, Obama seems to blame everyone else for everything. Nothing is Obama’s responsibility.” He then goes on to get Rush Limbaugh’s (yeah, yeah, I know – he’s the guy everyone loves to hate but the fact remains that the Nation’s Talker is rarely wrong or mistaken) take which gets right to the heart of the matter. The Champion of Conservatism runs through a list of headlines that proclaim, “Obama Blames Arab Spring and Japan’s Earthquake on Struggling Economy and Job Situation,” or that, “Obama Blames Messy Democracy for His Failed Policies.”(see related video) Additionally, “Obama Blames Congress for US Debt Mess,” and, “Obama Blames Republicans for Slow Pace on Immigration Reform,” as well as, “Obama Blames Media for Lack of Compromise in Washington.” Are you beginning to see a trend or a pattern emerging here? Let’s continue from the same source with, “Obama Blames Technology for Struggling Economy, “ and “Obama Blames Oil Speculators for High Oil Prices,” to, “Obama Blames Reagan for America’s Out Of Control Debt and Spending.”

I realize that this may be getting just a tad bit tedious here, but I’m starting to wonder about the Blamer-In-Chief’s mental state and it only gets worse. Let’s valiantly forge ahead for a few more examples of Obama’s lack of responsibility for his own actions and his more than obvious lack of maturity. Additional examples of the leader of the free world’s refusal to look inward and reflect honestly on his own overwhelming responsibility for the God awful mess our nation finds itself in include: “Obama Blames Bush and Congress for Lack of Fiscal Discipline; Obama Blames Bush-Congress for Putting Off Tough Decisions; Obama Blames Bush for Tax Cuts, Deficits; Obama Blames Bush for Deficits; Obama Blames GOP for Events That Led To Oil Spill; Obama Blames Republicans for America Not Being Able To Solve Problems; Obama Blames Corporations for Everybody’s Problems; Obama Blames Bush for Overall Standing of American Economy; Obama Blames Bush for Regulatory Policies; Obama Blames Wall Street Fat Cats for Economic Disaster; Obama Blames Bush for Stifling Unions; Obama Blames Bush for Failure to Recognize Europe’s Leading Role in the World; Candidate Obama Blames Fox News for His Elitist Label; Obama Blames Washington for High Gas Prices.” Okey Dokey, then. I heartily congratulate you if you actually read this seemingly endless list. Take a break and go enjoy your favorite adult beverage. I’m sure as Hell going to!

Welcome back. I hope you are sufficiently refreshed! The aforementioned list of who the Liar-In-Chief blames for America’s current and seemingly endless list of woes is in many ways quite instructive. The ills he mentioned serves to tell us that he is indeed cognizant of what’s happening in and to our country but he absolutely can’t admit publicly that he and his policies are more than anything and anybody else responsible for the plethora of woes we face as a nation and as a people. Why? Because he absolutely loves and cherishes the destruction he has wrought! He desperately and delightedly revels in the chaos he has purposely created . If he gets another term, then our Muslim fanatical enemies won’t have to worry about destroying the Great Satan for Obama will have handed them our nation on a silver platter!

I’ve made this statement numerous times in previous screeds and it has become more than just a little bit obvious that our Socialist-In-Chief despises our Free Market Economy and Capitalism itself. He despises traditional American values like rugged individualism and self-reliance. He wants us completely dependent on a huge, centralized Nanny State that will dole out to us dolts down here exactly what THEY feel we deserve and nothing more. If you keep these goals at the forefront of your mind, you’ll have no difficulty in completely understanding where this guy is coming from. In his own mind, he is succeeding in his purposefully destructive policies beyond his wildest dreams. Just keep that in mind. The more destruction he causes, the more havoc he wreaks on our country, our traditions, and our institutions the more ecstatic he becomes. He simply can’t admit this out loud in front of God and everybody else!

There are now, however, too many of us out here who recognize the nature and consequences of his evil machinations. One Jerry Pappe wrote a piece entitled, “Obama blames everyone but himself (www.heraldandnews.com),” where he acknowledges that Obama and the Democratic Party, “and their members of Congress have spent years blaming former President George W. Bush for the nation’s current economic woes.” He explains that, “nobody in the left-dominated media bothers to note that in the last two years of the Bush presidency, Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and thus had a death grip on the nation’s economy, having complete control over the nation’s purse strings.” Yeah, what about that overlooked and pesky little factoid?

Republicans did not have the power or the votes to block even one of Obama’s Socialist proposals. He set the agenda, his Congress came up with the bills, and the Pretender-in-Chief gladly and gleefully signed them into law. If for some inexplicable reason, his Socialist agenda was blocked, he simply fell back on the old Executive Order Gambit. He literally had his boot on the throat of the Republican Party and could do any damned thing he pleased. And boy, did he ever! I give you but two examples: the moratorium on all offshore oil drilling and, of course, Obamacare. The American people were overwhelmingly opposed to both measures but we got them rammed down our throats anyway. Representative government and the will of the people my sorry old ass!!

In a web piece by one Amy Proctor entitled, “As Economy Crashes, Obama Blames Everyone But Himself (http://amyproctor.squarespace.com),” we are reminded that, “The first principle in being President of the United States is that the buck stops with him.” She goes on to say, “Not so for this floundering destroyer in chief,” and she also points to some relevant headlines of the day. Some examples include: U.S. Credit Rating Downgraded for First Time in History; Worldwide Credit Rating Lost; U.S. Downgraded to AA+; S&P Chief – U.S. Must Stop Spending; Second U.S. Recession Could Be Worse Than First; Dems Blame Tea Party For Economic Woes; Dem Barney Frank Blames Credit Downgrade on Military!; Obama and David Axelrod Blame Tea Party for Downgrade!; Sec of Treasury Tax Cheat Tim Geitner Blames Downgrade on S&P Rating Organization. The author goes on to remind us that, “Obama has tripled the U.S. debt in his first 18 months in office, along with the Democratically controlled Senate and Congress before the 2010 shellacking at the polls in which the GOP took back the House.” She correctly concludes that, “Obama has been a COMPLETE DISASTER on the economy. Utter failure. Total catastrophe.” Amen, Sister, Amen.

Unfortunately, it is far worse than that. Our first 43 Presidents from Washington through “W” were collectively responsible for amassing 53% of our national debt-deficit. This means, of course, that the current occupant of the White House is singlehandedly and solely responsible for amassing 47% of the total debt-deficit all by his lonesome! The Court Jester-in-Chief has literally redistributed trillions away from the private sector to the government sector to be given to his cronies and supporters. That money, obviously, can no longer be used to hire more employees, expand existing businesses, or start new ones. It is only the private sector that can pull this country out of our government caused recession-depression and rev up our moribund economy. Additionally, all on his own our 44th President has added something like $4,000,000,000,000 to the national debt-deficit! Yet he and his minions continually and unceasingly blame everyone else but themselves! It is pathetic in the extreme and could be the death knell of the greatest nation God ever gave mankind. I am utterly convinced that Obama and his sycophants, toadies, and lackeys are exhibiting rather telling signs of some form of mental disease or disorder.

I am absolutely serious here and I am just as seriously totally and completely unqualified to make this kind of pronouncement. I have absolutely no training or background in psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy, or anything else related to disturbed minds or aberrant behavior. I am a total layman here so take what follows with many grains of salt. Take what’s coming for exactly what it’s worth and if it’s worth nothing then so be it. I can handle it. Let’s take a look at a web piece entitled, “Projection, Blaming, Grudge Holding, Doomsday Thinking, Revenge Thoughts, Black and White Thinking: Irrational Ways of Thinking Which Keep You Angry (http://angriestout.com).” The author, one Lynne Namka, Ed. D., describes various personality disorders including projection. She notes that, “Projection is a common defense mechanism where a person gets upset with a trait in someone else that he wishes to deny in himself.”

She goes on to say that, “much of their internal thought or words during an argument is focused on blaming the other person.” She informs us that while everyone has some of this going on, “some people have the need to blame others big time, thus obstructing their own growth and learning.” Namka also posits that for, “some people, the first reaction to a problem is to find someone else to blame. Blaming is a defense mechanism to avoid taking personal responsibility for the situation. The blamer rapidly finds fault in the other person and criticizes them.” Hmmmm, sound familiar?

Others have described Projection as a symptom of people suffering from something called Bi-Polar Disorder. An article entitled, “Common Games Between BPs and Non-BPs (http://bpdcentral.com),” explains that, “people with BPD usually lack a clear sense of who they are, and feel empty and inherently defective.” Furthermore, “Projection is denying one’s own unpleasant traits, behaviors, or feelings by attributing them (often in an accusing way) to someone else.” Additionally, “The BPs unconscious hope is that by projecting this unpleasant stuff onto another person . . . the person with BPD will feel better about themselves.” Let’s see, personality disorder? Projection? Bi-Polar Disorder? This doesn’t actually inspire confidence in our Fearless Leader’s ability to make clear, competent, or even rational decisions. For most of us out here issues like these may cause problems in our personal or professional lives. We can deal with it or not. The President of the United States, however, is never more than a few feet away from a soldier who carries with him the “football”, a satchel containing all of our nuclear launch codes. Hey, I’m just sayin’.

What’s all this psycho-babble and jargon have to do with the price of beans as it relates to our daily lives and existence? Well, let’s take a look at something that is crucial to the way we lives our lives – oil. One of our nation’s most serious, debilitating, and dangerous problems remains our dependency on foreign sources for our energy needs. Oil remains the single most abundant, most efficient, and, yes, cleanest source for fulfilling our energy requirements for well into the foreseeable future. There’s just no getting around it, through it, over it, or under it. Oil is it. Yes, all the recent talk and hype about alternative energy sources and fuels sounds fine and maybe one day far into the future they can replace fossil fuels as a dependable source of energy. At present, however, they simply can’t.

With current technologies in solar and wind power, for example, those two sources can’t even provide five percent of our energy needs. It just isn’t possible and yet those on the Far Left insist that we shut down oil production, stop exploration for new sources, and cease and desist from any and all kinds of drilling. They say that they are only trying to save the environment and the planet by their anti-oil stance and hysteria but that’s just a giant load of Bullshit and Bombast and they know it. Like everything else, they’ve politicized oil and charge anyone who still favors the use of fossil fuels as an enemy and a traitor to Dear Old Mother Earth! Obama and the Boys placed a moratorium on all offshore drilling in the Gulf Coast and the Pacific. They refuse to allow the oil guys from operating in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and the Deccan Plateau ( see the Energy Independence Rant of 6/23/09). Old Barry Boy then turns around and solemnly swears that he is somehow moving us toward energy independence!

Once again, it appears that Black Man Speak With Forked Tongue! He’s doing everything he can to keep us dependent on foreigners for our energy needs and some of those guys really, really hate us! Remember, Obama and his Socialist minions absolutely love the concept of keeping people ever more dependent on government. To them, anything even remotely related to the concept of independence in any area of our lives, including energy, is anathema and must be cast out! Not surprisingly, then, while he recognizes that his non-energy policies are helping him bring the United States to its knees, he characteristically blames anything and anybody but himself! In a piece for the American Thinker entitled, “Obama Blames Everyone But Himself For High Gas Prices (www.americanthinker.com),” author Rick Moran informs us that the, “president’s energy non-policy of funding solar, wind, and God-knows-what- other kind of power while doing everything to prevent opening new oil fields to exploration and development is not to blame for high prices, says the president.” This is not merely the death of common sense being displayed by the Anointed One, it is another example of his out and out lying.

Instead, our Oil Expert-in-Chief blames the evil oil speculators but swears that, “We’re now in a position to investigate if there’s unfair speculation. We’re going to be monitoring gas stations to make sure there isn’t any price gauging that’s taking advantage of consumers.” Utterly Fucking Brilliant, I tell you!! It just takes one’s breath away. That’s just what America needs. More and more Federal interference in the lives of private citizens and even more Federal Inspectors nosing into the business of some poor shlub who owns the corner gas station and is just trying to make a living. Yeah, I’m really relieved and grateful that Big Brother is watching over me! Those evil damned speculators – we’ll really stick it to them all right just as we will to those immoral and sinful price gauging Bastards! The President insists that since oil is a world commodity that when, “prices spike up like this there aren’t a lot of short-term solutions.” Rick Moran, however, correctly counters that there, “would have been short term solutions if one of Obama’s first acts as president would have been to open up every available oil field for drilling.” So simple. So true. Does our Fearless Leader step up to the plate and take ownership of his failure and responsibility and then put corrective measures in place? No, of course not. Far better to blame someone else!

An outfit called Right Wing News (www.rightwingnews.com), published a piece entitled, “Obama Blames Everyone Else on Oil Prices.” Author Brian Garst notes that, “Despite public demand for increasing domestic oil production, the current White House has sent a clear signal that the U.S. will not be increasing production into the future, despite growing demand.” He continues that while, “simply one of many factors impacting the price of oil, it is a factor.” However, “Rather than acknowledge that the price of oil reflects the realities of supply and demand, including anticipated changes in the future, Obama is lashing out at anyone and everyone in an attempt to distract from his failed and misguided leadership on energy.” Better be careful what you say here Mr. Garst, or you’re likely to get a visit from those friendly folks from the New Black Panther Party!

The author also explains that Old Barry Boy is blaming those evil speculators but correctly asserts that they are merely reflecting the reality that demand will in the near future far outpace our oil supplies. They are not, as El Jefe and his Hordes maintain, creating our reality. The Far Left must be fully credited for this particular dilemma. Garst explains that the, “same cannot be said of the President whose policies are sending a clear signal that U.S. domestic production will be curtailed or at least not allowed to grow fast enough to match future demands.” The Saboteur-in-Chief fully realizes that without enough oil this nation comes to a grinding, screeching, and disastrous halt! As alluded to earlier, this is exactly and precisely what he wants. He and his mob want nothing more than the destruction of the United States and purposely denying us the crucial ability to acquire as much oil as we can as quickly as we can from our own abundant resources might very well be the key element in his plans for America’s demise. Who would think it? An American President duly elected by American citizens wants to utterly bring this nation to ruin! Nah, that can’t be. It’s got to be my delusional paranoia kicking in again. Maybe I should call the shrink and get my “scripts” refilled.

Obama, however, is not merely content to blame oil speculators but instead goes right to the source: Big Oil Companies who as we all know are evil incarnate and must be destroyed and then, of course, nationalized. Can we all say Hugo Chavez five times fast? The same source notes that the, “President is also picking on another bogeyman, those dastardly oil companies.” The Exalted One himself proclaimed that, “Four billion dollars of your money are going to these companies at a time when they’re making record profits and you’re paying record prices at the pump.” The Liar-in-Chief sounds really mad now and he threatened that, “it has to stop.” Yessirree! Tough talk from the Bamster. I’ve noticed something about this guy. He never, absolutely never backs up his generalizations and simplistic blatherings with facts, numbers, and sources. We’re simply supposed to take this crap at face value and never question his all-knowing and all-encompassing wisdom. He is, after all, the Great Leader who will lovingly take care of all of us little people out here. Not to worry – just do as the Great One dictates and trust him without doubt or question!

The last I read, the average business in America, both large and small, maintains a profit margin of between eight and ten percent so let’s split the difference and call it nine percent. Does that nine percent sound so outrageous to you? No, me either. Well, guess what? That’s right about where the oil companies come in. Did you know that for every dollar you spend at the pump the evil oil companies rake in a whopping, grotesque eight cents? Let’s tar and feather those Bastards and then string them up by their, uh, thumbs! Oh yeah, what about all those gazillions of dollars they rake in!?! Yeah, what about it? Have you ever heard of research, development, and exploration? Do you know how many billions upon billions of dollars those greedy oil mongers shell out in taxes? What about the tremendous expense involved in actually drilling and extracting the crude and the cost of transporting and refining the stuff? What about the additional expense of transporting the gas to your local station or the oil to the home heating company? Yeah, without these nefarious capitalists, you know what? We’d freeze our asses off during the winter months and we could all turn our automobiles into giant planters to adorn our front yards as they sit up on blocks!

I’m always amazed at the constant anger and hatred directed at people who bring us products and services without which our lives would become unlivable and untenable. The folks involved with these crucial industries should be thanked, cheered, and applauded. Instead President Barry Boy and the rest of the Braying Jackasses vilify them with lies, falsehoods, and shameful smears! Author Garst correctly notes that, “reducing oil production relative to demand, or adopting disruptive cap-and-trade regulations, will ensure that prices continue to rise.” The author also has a refreshingly honest and upbeat message about one of Socialism’s most despised and feared enemies: the entire concept of profits and the profit motive. He explains that if Obama, “means record profits have to stop, he’s just being demagogic.” After all, “profits simply serve to encourage more production and investment in a sector, thus providing more of what the public has voted for with their wallets that they want.” That doesn’t even rise to the level of Economics 101 – it’s simply common sense. The writer concludes on what I believe is a hopeful note. He explains that the, “President is clearly exploiting popular ignorance in hopes of distracting from his own economic failures. But he can blame speculators, oil companies, or anyone else all he wants. If prices continue to rise, and the economy continues to struggle, he will be very vulnerable in 2012.” From your mouth to God’s ear, my friend!

That our Anointed One will not accept even the slightest iota of blame but continually deflects it off onto others is telling in the extreme. Lately, however, he’s elevated that juvenile behavior to even greater and more dizzying heights. Who is ultimately guilty in his warped, Socialist, tiny little mind? Well, you are. I am. We all are. He, of course isn’t but the American citizen, the American consumer, is the ultimate and consummate culprit, the evil villain behind our nation’s woes and ills. It is our fault. Why, you may ask yourself is it our fault? The answer is simplicity itself. Obama is obviously all knowing and all seeing. He is the Truth Giver, the Great Seer, and God-King all rolled up neatly into his Divine Presence. All wisdom emanates from Him and Him alone. He, therefore, can never be wrong and can be blamed for nothing. I am sure that this megalomaniac truly believes this and in his head he is sure he was sent to us from On High to lead us out of the desert and into the Promised Land of Socialism, fewer and fewer freedoms and liberties, bigger and more intrusive government, and a drastic reduction in personal wealth and prosperity.

This is his warped and purposeful game plan and goal. Unfortunately, I am forced to conclude that huge numbers of my fellow citizens seriously and ardently agree with above assessment of our Brother-in-Chief. After all, over 52% of America’s electorate gave Him the presidency. How is it possible to reach any other conclusion? Well if you are one of those deluded and delusional folks, and you damned well know who you are, I just hope you’re as happy as the proverbial pig in shit! You deserve the Bastard and the mayhem and misery he is directly responsible for. The rest of us, however, emphatically do not! So how do you guys feel now? You are his faithful and faithfully blind followers and he blames you, along with the rest of us, for the economic debacle we are forced to endure based at least partly on outrageous fuel prices because of his outrageous and wrong-headed policies. I sure hope you’re still as ecstatic as you were on the day Old Barry Boy received his crown and scepter!

An article entitled, “President Obama Blames You for High Gas Prices (http://blog.heritage.org),” opines that, “President Barrack Obama deflected blame for high gas prices yesterday by blaming American consumers for their automobile choices.” At a wind turbine boondoggle – uh, I mean plant, “Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices.” According to author Rory Cooper, Obama said, “If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know . . . you might to want think about a trade-in.” There you go, you poor besotted, befuddled, ignorant Bastards. It’s your fault for buying that huge gas-guzzling beast! It’s obvious that YOU are artificially pumping up current inflated fuel prices so shut up and go out and buy what amounts to no more than a coffin on wheels!

Yeah, it’s all about you and your selfish choices! Forget about the fact that you’re a family of six and need the space or the fact that you need a large vehicle to keep your business afloat. It doesn’t matter that you’re concerned with your family’s safety on the road and a large heavier vehicle gives you the peace of mind that those tiny little “rice burners” simply can’t provide. How about the concept that you as an American consumer just damned well WANT one!?! It matters not a whit. In addition to obviously hating the planet and your desire to wantonly pollute and destroy it, you have committed a far greater sin. You have failed to follow the directives from His Highness and for this you must obviously burn in Hell!

According to the Socialist-in-Chief, you shouldn’t have the choice to purchase the car or truck you desire and can afford. These high gas prices are your fault and for your brazen disobedience you must be severely chastised, ridiculed, and punished! How dare you exercise your right to choose?!? The author goes on to explain that for, “most Americans, however, high gas prices are no laughing matter. And for the president to suggest that a taxpayer’s inability to buy a new $40,000+ hybrid vehicle (that still requires gas) is the root problem, rather than his price-increasing oil policies is shameful.” True, but then we are talking about a guy who is utterly and totally shameless. In addition, our thoroughly clueless leader has no idea how ludicrous is his demand that we all rush out and purchase a tiny death trap that has all the power of your average lawn mower as it relates to the price of gas. Even if all of us did his bidding, it wouldn’t reduce our price at the pump. It would simply reduce our cost by virtue of having to fill much smaller gas tanks. The price per gallon, however, would remain just as high as ever. That the leader of the free world should be so utterly ignorant and/or duplicitous does not bode well for this nation’s future.

The piece goes on to inform us that before, “President Obama took office, his personal vehicle of choice was the Chrysler 3000 sporting a V8 engine averaging 17 miles per gallon in the city. The President’s campaign vehicle was a GMC Yukon, which was flex-fuel averaging . . . 17 MPG. But, of course, this is a do as we say, not as we do activist administration. You must live by a different set of rules.” How absolutely typical. This is the way all those on the Far Left view us little people. They will tell us how to live and attempt to control and regulate every aspect of our lives while they do exactly whatever the Hell they please. In their own overblown egos, that is their due and our current pathetic excuse of a leader is only the most visible example of that attitude. The author of the piece understands that the, “president knows his anti-drilling policies and costly regulations are contributing to high gas prices. Normally, we may expect him to deflect this onto his political opponents, or perhaps ‘evil’ corporate interests, but we must admit, blaming American consumers is at least . . . unique.”

The man is simply unable, totally incapable of taking responsibility for his own actions and mistakes. He seems to have a pathological need to blame others, everybody and anybody, for his own short comings, failures, and mistakes. This is obviously not healthy behavior and raises many serious questions about Obama’s ability to rationally lead and govern. Once again, I’ll throw in my previous cautionary note about my complete lack of knowledge dealing with matters psychological on anything but a layman’s level. Nevertheless, I’ve noticed what I regard as too many abnormalities in the man’s behavior and I feel compelled to point them out. My apologies to all those highly trained and educated professionals in the field. Well, here goes. We’re all familiar with that old expression that just because you’re paranoid it doesn’t mean that they’re not out to get you but I believe I detect more than just a little paranoia in the Anointed One’s behavior. Webster’s defines the term as, “a mental disorder characterized by delusions of grandeur,” and I believe the term fits our Bungler-in-Chief like a favorite old shoe.
(see related video)

In a web piece entitled, “Personality Disorder Information (www.4degreez.com),” the term paranoid is described as, “characterized by a distrust of others and a constant suspicion that people around you have sinister motives.” Additionally, these folks “tend to have excessive trust in their own knowledge and abilities and usually avoid close relationships with others.” Furthermore, they “usually shift blame to others and tend to carry long grudges.” I believe Obama’s penchant for constantly blaming others and ducking personal responsibility has been extremely well documented. We also know just from his public utterances that he possesses an ego at least the size of the Milky Way and I’m sure he sees himself as the last and most deserving likeness to be carved into Mount Rushmore. John Lott’s piece referenced earlier speaks to Obama’s opinion of himself. The article states the as a candidate he boasted, “I think I’m a better speech writer than my speech writers,” he reportedly told an aide in 2008. In addition, the Presidential hopeful claimed that, “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell right now . . . I’m a better political director than my political director.” Talk about an overdose of pure unadulterated Hubris, well I guess so! The article further notes that on, “Another occasion – at the 2004 Democratic Convention, Mr. Obama explained to a Chicago Tribune reporter that, “I’m LeBron baby. I can play at this level. I got game.” Is this really the kind of rhetoric we want and expect from serious, level-headed, responsible leaders?

Referring back to the piece entitled, “Personality Disorder Information,” we note one that is labeled Histrionic which is described as those, “people with histrionic personality disorder are constant attention seekers. They need to be the center of attention all the time,” and they, “use grandiose language to describe everyday events and seek constant praise.” I have noticed this trait about our President literally every time the Phony Bastard opens his mouth. Have you ever really listened and paid strict attention when he speaks? The language is always overly flowery and grand and he has rehearsed over and over again that peculiar and unnatural cadence when he speaks. He creates the purposeful impression that he is talking to us from on high and that his every utterance must be etched in stone.

Yet, if you’ve ever taken the time to actually read and analyze full transcripts of his speeches you will quickly realize that he has said nothing of any substance at all. There’s never any real substance – just symbolism, but he sure sounds ever so Presidential. The same article also describes Narcissism and explains that this personality disorder, “is characterized by self-centeredness,” and that people afflicted with it, “seek attention and praise. They exaggerate their achievements, expecting others to recognize them as being superior.” The man reeks of this trait. It literally oozes from his very pores! Perhaps most tellingly, “They tend to make good first impressions yet have difficulty maintaining long-lasting relationships.” As with the American people, you mean? Let’s face it, he came on like Gang-Busters but less than three years into his first term the bloom is definitely off that fucking rose! His youthful, vigorous, and energetic appearance certainly made a damned good impression on so many unthinking boobies out there that it appeared that we may have run across a new kind of politician who actually might make good on his promises. The American people really got excited about the prospect. Alas and alack, it was all just smoke and mirrors, just a cheap conjuror’s trick, and the nation seems to be on to him as the 2012 elections draw inexorably closer. Just take a look at his poll numbers lately.

Our Great Leader’s biggest problem seems to be his absolute and total inability to look inward and take personal responsibility for his actions such as, oh, I don’t know, fostering more destruction upon our country than could any foreign enemy. He has, I believe, purposely set out to destroy America and turn it into something it was never meant to be: a monument to the colossal failures as seen in every Socialist-Communist nation in planetary history. His policies and machinations are responsible for the utter mess we find ourselves in but he continues to blame everyone else but himself. In a piece entitled, “Accepting Personal Responsibility (www.livestrong.com),” author Jake Lawson asks, “What is Accepting Personal Responsibility?” His answers include: “Acknowledging that you are solely responsible for the choices in your life; Accepting the fact that you choose the direction for your life; and Accepting that you cannot blame others for the choices you have made.” Additionally, Lawson notes that you must, “point the finger of responsibility back to yourself and away from others,” and that one must take, “an honest inventory of your strengths, abilities, talents, virtues, and positive points.” In other words, be honest about yourself for if you do not do that you can never be honest with anyone else and therefore cannot and must not be trusted.

If we as a nation do not realize in one big damned hurry that our child-like and childish “leader” is incapable of such mature, adult self-reflection this country is headed straight for the crapper! Just look at all the carnage he has wrought in less than one full term. If he is granted yet another term I fear this once great nation shall remain forever just that – once great!

Much Luv Y’all and Have a Great Day!
