THE OBAMACARE RATIONING RANT

The Supreme Court recently concluded three days of hearings to consider the constitutionality or lack thereof of the Affordable Care Act of 2010. The government’s spokesman or advocate, if you will, did not fare particularly well as he hemmed, hawed, and herrumphed in his at times seemingly incoherent and nonsensical answers to the Justices’ questions and missives. He looked and sounded like he was somewhere between angry and confused as he found himself repeatedly wedged in between the old rock and a hard place. He seemed to be doing his damndest to explain and defend this monstrosity that has come to be called Obamacare but I got the distinct impression that his heart wasn’t really in it. The poor Bastard seemed at quite a loss to put his best foot forward while being grilled by some of those Justices. It’s not all that difficult to understand because any attempt to defend something that is monumentally and patently indefensible is a task that can only be termed as Herculean. Any attempt to do so only serves to make the defender look foolish at best and a flat out liar at worst. Being the good and loyal “soldier” that he is, he took one for the team, gallantly and willingly threw himself on his sword, and went down with the ship.

The fact that the damned health care law is obviously and grotesquely unconstitutional, however, is absolutely no guarantee that the Supreme Court will, as it should, strike it down. There is, after all, no appeal once that august body renders its decision and it may very well remain the law of the land regardless of the will of the American people. When the bill was being discussed and debated, an overwhelming number of us never wanted to see it become law and even today most Americans are absolutely in favor of repealing it. For example, the damned thing is a clear and complete violation of the Constitution’s Commerce Clause and if not struck down will permanently and completely alter the relationship between the governed and those who govern in our country. No President or leader of any kind can force or coerce us into purchasing a product or service we do not wish to have. No where in the Constitution is that kind of megalomaniacal power stated or implied. This is simply not supposed to have any place or standing in our representative republic. This would absolutely destroy liberty and freedom in America like nothing we have ever seen or even imagined. It would change this nation in ways that are not fathomable to most of us and it’s not something that many folks thought we’d ever have to contemplate let alone face as an accomplished fact.

If we are forced to accept government run and controlled health care, what else do you suppose might be in the offing? I know, for example, that our Socialist-in-Chief is totally enamored of such toys as the electric automobile and has touted them as one of his weapons in his phony war to protect and save the environment. While he may champion these things, the American people – the consumer – certainly and emphatically do not. They are very expensive, inefficient, and in fact unreliable. They are also, from what I’ve been told, extremely uncomfortable and get a whopping forty miles to the charge. Last year I believe approximately 7,000 of these boondoggles were purchased and the largest single buyer was our own government! Nobody wanted the damned things and the American car buyer is voting with his dollars. But the Bamster’s heart remains untroubled and if he dictates that we will be forced into vehicles that we don’t want then so be it! Impossible you say? I never thought I’d see the day come when Americans would literally be forced to purchase government mandated and controlled health care and yet if the law is not overturned that day will have arrived. Why not the same as it relates to something like the Chevy Volt?

Our limited representative government was never intended or designed to interfere in ways like this in the daily lives of American citizens. This kind of intrusive, heavy-handed micromanagement of life in this country was and is expressly forbidden by the Founding Fathers because they understood that in the end government is about nothing but power and control at the expense and to the detriment of the citizenry. Our Founding Documents and especially the Bill of Rights explicitly denies this kind of all encompassing and overbearing reach by those we elected to govern and provide wise, faithful, and vigilant guardianship of our hard-fought for and won liberty. Suffice it to say, that grand vision has been completely and perhaps irrevocably shattered and if El Destructo is once more elected the America we know and love is forever doomed and destroyed!

You think that this is just too much of a stretch and that those of us who ardently feel this way are displaying something between full-blown hysteria and rabid paranoia? Let’s go back, shall we, to the topic of Obamacare. With the passage of that Socialist bill into law, we effectively surrendered one-sixth of our economy to the gentle auspices of the Federal Government. No freedom loving, independent American should be the least bit sanguine about that new reality for it constitutes nothing less than a direct and brutal full frontal attack on our liberty and that is no overstatement or exaggeration. Can you think of any aspect of life, even the most routine daily and mundane activities, that in some manner, shape, or form can’t be either directly or indirectly linked to the concepts of health and health care? Well, maybe you can but I guarantee that Socialists absolutely cannot! Obama and the Boys are in fact Socialists and if you have difficulty wrapping your mind around that concept you simply don’t understand or comprehend the man’s worldview, his literal hatred for the United States as envisioned by our Founders and presently constituted, or how much he loathes and despises Free Market Capitalism! You just don’t get it and it’s probably because you don’t want to. Don’t feel alone. There are simply millions upon millions of Americans who just can’t come to grips with the fact and idea that we have elected as our President, the leader of the free world, someone who actually holds these views about the greatest nation God ever gave mankind! It simply doesn’t compute does it?

Unfortunately, that is exactly the case and this Socialist “Sombitch” has yet another powerful weapon in his arsenal with which he can dismantle and destroy our traditions, institutions, and way of life. Yup, that’s what Obamacare is essentially designed to accomplish. It’s got absolutely nothing at all to do with the state of your health, the quality and availability of services, or the efficiency or effectiveness of health care in the United States. Instead, it has everything to do with power, control, and a severe loss of choice and liberty. Government dictated health care constitutes nothing less than a monopoly and monopoly always destroys freedom. Additionally, under monopoly the quality of products and services always declines drastically while the price is driven up beyond the ability of most to pay it. The lack of competition – which is exactly what Obamacare means – always and severely harms the consumer regardless of the product or service in question. From health care to sporting goods to food and drink and anything else you can think of monopoly by definition imposes a loss of individual autonomy, choice, and freedom.

Once Americans accept government controlled health care, what other areas of our lives will the Fearless Leader next invade and despoil? Who knows for sure but you can bet the family jewels that Obamacare constitutes merely the opening gambit in his head-long rush to strip away our freedom for then literally no area of life is out of bounds or off limits to the Dictator Wannabe and his modern day Storm Troopers. This guy makes even those ancient Khan Boys look enlightened and benign! Can, for example, such activities and past times like sports be somehow tied to the entire concept of health care? Can they somehow be construed as a threat to the health of American citizens and thus be brought under the strict control and scrutiny of Big Brother and his freedom destroying Minions?

Of course they can. There are always a wide range of injuries associated with such things as football, baseball, hockey, and soccer. This is considered an assumed risk of these games which is a price to be paid and expected from the amateur to professional levels. We have entire professions such as sports medicine and physical therapy devoted exclusively to mending the broken and injured bodies of those who participate in them. Don’t these and other such activities pose at least the potential for serious health risks to those who partake of them? Absolutely, and thus they can become targets of the Obamacare Crowd!

Think of the potential threats to our health involved in such routine and mundane experiences as preparing the family’s evening repast. You know, dinner. Talk about the easy availability of lethal weapons like sharpened knives, broken shards of glass and china, or the ever-present and looming health risks posed by tainted or improperly prepared meat and fish. I’m tellin’ ya, the kitchen is just as dangerous to our health as is a loaded .45 with a hair trigger! Maybe one day under the auspices of Obamacare we’ll be forced to dine in only certified government dining facilities where meals can only be prepared by government approved food preparation technicians in order to protect us from ourselves!

If you think this is merely the ranting and raving of a completely paranoid and out of control conspiracy nut, well you might be right. But if you can’t fathom even the most minute possibility of something like this occurring given the direction our country has been taking for decades then you are simply not capable of understanding the strange things that go on in the minds of our statist, Socialist, and collectivist friends on the Far Left! If nothing else then, realize – as Rush Limbaugh is so fond of saying – I’m merely illustrating the absurd by employing absurdity! Care to consider but one more outlandish absurdity? Maybe our Statist-in-Chief will one day get it into his head that the sports fishing industry falls under the purview of health and health care and that activity should by all means be banned to the general public. Right, just how stupid can I get here? Really? Just read the Obama Fishing Ban Rant of April 13, 2011 and then tell me just how off-base I am.

Let’s suppose for a moment that the Obamacare debacle remains in place when the Supreme Court’s verdict is rendered in June. As horrific a thought as that is, let’s look at just how drastically and negatively it will change life in the United States. Up until now, health and health care have been literally a sacred trust between patient and doctor. It has been an extremely personal matter between care provider and care consumer. No one and certainly no outside agency or party must ever disturb or disrupt that delicate, sensitive, and ever-so private relationship. It’s just one of the ways in which our system of health and health care are so far and away above what exists on the rest of the planet. Well, under Obamacare that’s all finished, over, kaput, and through! It institutionalizes, codifies, and makes legal the God awful and abhorrent concept and reality of rationing and depersonalizing one’s relationship with the entire medical profession. Rationing by government is not something willingly accepted even when done in the name of national emergency like World War ll. It simply goes against the grain, so to speak, and violates sacred American traditions like choice and freedom. We Americans thoroughly and intensely dislike and resist these kinds of restrictions when imposed by government mandate or fiat. Just look at the black markets that sprang up during the Second World War for commodities like sugar and gasoline. Some have maintained that we are simply too freedom-loving and independent to merely quietly sit back and put up with things like rationing. Others feel that we as a people are just too damned cantankerous, stubborn, and ornery to put up with something as drastic as rationing. Whatever the reason, it certainly rubs us the wrong way.(see related video)

Yet rationing is a major component of Obamacare that is absolutely undeniable unless one is a thorough and complete Obama-file. It exists, it’s a reality, and the Far Left has successfully inserted a huge element of Socialism and government control into the extremely personal and private relationship between doctor and patient. This exists all over Western Europe where socialized medicine is the accepted norm. It has never been the case in the United States of America and goes against virtually all of our values, traditions, and our heritage. It strips citizens of all vestiges of choice and freedom in something as crucial as our health. This represents not merely the fabled “slippery slope” but rather is more akin to being thrown off a cliff! It’s a complete reversal and denial of everything and anything this country stands for and it literally shreds the Constitution into meaningless bits of confetti! It destroys the very meaning of America and nothing like it had ever been even imagined by our Founding Fathers all those years ago.(see related video)

Remember how Sarah Palin was so mocked, ridiculed, and scorned when she brought up the concept of “death panels” that would become a reality of American life should Obamacare ever become the law of the land? Sure you do. The woman was excoriated and made the butt of countless tasteless and humorless jokes by so-called pundits and Far Left comedians. She was brutally and shamelessly humiliated and her family suffered right along with her. Well, it turns out that she was dead-on accurate and a thousand percent correct! The death panels are here and they pose a direct threat to you and those you hold dear, especially our senior citizens. Unless this health care law is completely and utterly repealed and struck down in its entirety life and death as we have always understood them will be forever altered in the United States. Both will come under the strict and harsh scrutiny of an even more powerful and centralized government than any of us ever imagined possible. Life and death decisions will no longer be the domain of ourselves, our families, and our medical professionals. Instead, government and its beaurocrats would become the ultimate arbiters of who gets treated and for what. Does that sound like America to you? Me either.

Of course, in the official language of Obamacare you will not find the term death panels. That would simply be too open and honest for our Dissembler-in-Chief to employ. No where in the law can you read about the stark reality in bracing and chilling terms that your demise will be debated upon and decided by uninterested and uncaring FUCKING beaurocrats. Let’s say for example, that you have recently been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness like cancer. After you pick your stomach up off the floor and get your heart out of your mouth, you and your doctor along with your family decide upon the best form of treatment and care most appropriate for your particular malady. Not anymore. A panel of “experts” in the employ of government will make these kinds of life and death decisions for you. You and your doctor will not even be part of the equation and family members certainly not need apply!

Out will come the actuarial tables, the charts and calculators. They will assess the quality of your life up until the point of diagnosis, how much longer you are LIKELY to live, the quality of the rest of your life, and how much you can still contribute to our nation’s well-being in the form of taxes to justify the government deciding to provide whatever life-saving and expensive care you will need to keep you breathing! Sound like America to you? Yeah, me either. No, you say, not here in the United States. That can’t be – but it is and the Bamster openly admitted it at one of his town hall meetings just a few years back. A woman explained that her mother at the age of one hundred needed a pacemaker installed but doctors told her that Mom was too old and frail and they refused to perform the necessary life saving procedure. The woman responded by noting that her mother had always displayed an obvious zest for life and that the old woman was not a burden to anyone. No good, the medico’s wouldn’t go for it.

She finally found a doctor who was utterly impressed by the old gal, her attitude, and her mental awareness and he went ahead with the operation, installed the device and by the time of the town hall meeting she had reached the “youthful” age of 105 and was doing quite well, thank you very much! The woman asked our Socialist-in-Chief whether her Mom would have received the same care and concern under Obamacare? His answer was basically a chilling, flat out no. He said in his best professorial tone that at times one must forego the operation and opt for the good old pain pills! Yeah, folks, he really said that and never once apologized for it.

According to Obamacare, rationing will be implemented via a euphemism known as the Independent Advisory Board (IPAB) which would consist of, “a panel of 15 unelected bureaucrats empowered to make cuts to Medicare when spending exceeds targeted growth rates (http://dailycaller.com).” Well, let’s see, does that really sound all that much like rationing? Stay with it for the, “IPAB will essentially mean rationed care for our nation’s seniors.” Additionally, “The 15 officials who will make up the board will not only be empowered to make billions of dollars worth of cuts to Medicare every year, but will be required to do so when spending exceeds targeted rates.” How does that sound so far? An unelected board with, as far as I can tell, nary a health care professional appointed to it will be able to drastically and arbitrarily make drastic cuts to the health care provided to Gramps and Grammy! This is an example of what might be termed economic rationing. After all, if particular services lose their funding they obviously will not and cannot be provided. A loss of service always reduces the available choices that exist and drives up the costs of those that remain.

Not only will available services become more and more scarce but so too the health professionals that traditionally provide them. There are now increasing numbers of doctors that are refusing to accept any new Medicare patients to their practices. Is it that they simply don’t like elderly sick people? Of course not. Rather, “the board is expected to focus on minimizing payments provided to doctors who serve Medicare patients.” As payments to doctors are cut it becomes, “no longer financially viable for many physicians to serve Medicare patients as it is, and such cuts would exacerbate a Medicare-doctors shortage that is already affecting patients’ access to care throughout the country.” How does that sound for rationing? This, however, constitutes a mere baby-step in Obama’s Socialist health care prescription. The article concludes that while, “this form of rationing would most certainly be harmful to patients who need dependable doctors, a far worse form of rationing would be close behind. For example, IPAB may eventually be allowed to resort to Great Britain’s chosen rationing methods and refuse to provide certain effective treatment to patients who need them based on costs and patients’ remaining quality adjusted life years.” The author of the piece seems, then, to hold out at least some hope that it won’t come to this and we’ll perhaps be able to save ourselves from this fate which would constitute but one more nail in America’s coffin! I am not nearly as optimistic.

If one looks carefully at those nations that have long histories with Socialism, it is more then obvious that once government becomes even slightly involved in running large segments of a country’s economic activity it ends up in a relatively short period completely regulating all economic activities of a population. This is a given in any nation that is run exclusively from the top down rather than having ideas, decisions, and policies percolating up from the people to the powers that be. America, in case you have missed it, has become just such a country since at least when FDR unleashed his own personal Reign of Terror on us and it continues unabated with the Obama administration. This ultra-Liberal mutt and his cohorts have obviously inserted massive doses of government control over our health and health care but this is only his latest foray into his ongoing efforts to destroy our nation.

He has virtually destroyed any opportunity for us to achieve anything even remotely approaching the goal of energy independence. We can’t even go after our own vast and abundant natural resources and he has openly and publicly declared that he will absolutely destroy the coal industry. Our automobile industry, once the envy of the world, has come under massive and intrusive government control as can be truthfully asserted about our financial industry. Directly due to his interference and his support for debacles like “Freddie” and “Fannie” our once highly productive housing industry is in the crapper. All of this and more can be laid directly at his feet and thus so can our frightening and appalling unemployment figures. While certainly, former Presidents must share some of the blame for our current sorry state of affairs, none of them has done the utter and devastating damage as our Socialist-in-Chief has purposely and premeditatedly wrought on this country. Hell, all by his lonesome he has added five TRILLION dollars to our deficit!

The point here is that as the government asserts more and more control over major areas of our lives, freedom and liberty are squeezed out and that’s always the case. In all of the economic spheres stated above, rationing always becomes a harsh and stark reality and a cold new fact of our existence in 21st Century America. Gas prices, for example, will absolutely smash the five dollar per gallon ceiling this summer. Fewer and fewer folks can roll up to the pump and say the simple phrase, “filler up!” More and more Americans cannot blithely and without considering economic consequences throw fifty, seventy, or eighty bucks at a time into our gas tanks! Folks, this is rationing and it is not merely self-imposed by the realities of our own economic situations. It is being crammed down our gullets by the deliberate and debilitating effects of El Jefe’s negative or nonexistent energy plans and policies. What the Hell did the Brother-in-Chief think would happen to the price of gas when he single-handedly nixed the Keystone Pipeline? What about all of the employment possibilities that would have become realities had he allowed the damned thing to be built!?!

He damned well knew the consequences and they exactly fit his central template of destroying our nation! Have you noticed what’s happening to the price of food at your local supermarket? Of course you have. As the price of our victuals rise we are forced to ration the quantity and quality of our purchases of those necessary commodities. Once again, because of government policy we cannot buy more and more of the items we require and desire. How many Americans, for example, are having a tough time heating their homes in the winter because of this guy’s interference in our Free Market Capitalist system? How many of us fly far less frequently or simply stop taking those vacations we love? Rationing has become a normal albeit loathsome aspect of our national existence. Why should we expect, then, any different outcome when it comes to something as important as our health and health care? Exactly, we shouldn’t!

An article entitled, “Government-Run Health Care Always Becomes Rationed Health Care (www.mccl.org)!” recognizes that, “there are a number of people advocating a massive overhaul of our state and national systems to provide so-called universal health care.” The piece correctly points out that there, “is no instance in which a government has run a health care program more efficiently than the private sector. The only way universal health care can adequately address rising health care costs is by limiting available care,” and that, “rationing of care is not an acceptable health care delivery principle, nor is it an appropriate way to contain health care costs.” This obviously true statement cannot in any way be refuted by anyone who is not a Far Left Wing Socialist ideologue whose central philosophy has always been to destroy what America has come to stand for over the centuries. There is simply no other explanation.

These people cannot be compromised with, argued with, or appeased. They must be defeated. They are, in fact, the enemy of anyone who loves this country, its heritage, traditions, and institutions. We are literally engaged in a war of competing and diametrically opposing ideologies and world views. On the one side, there are those who insist that we preserve and maintain our liberty and freedom while the enemy is comprised of those who desperately want to destroy them – and we are running out of time. I believe that the future of our nation will be decided by the 2012 presidential election. Are there still enough Americans left willing to engage in this fight and see it through to victory or are there already too many of us who have raised the white flag of surrender and succumbed to the lure of big government freebies, hand-outs, and control? Are there still enough patriots left to secure a victory for our beloved American way of life? Are there still enough of us who firmly and absolutely believe in the concept and reality of American Exceptionalism? We’ll know the answer to these and many more questions in a mere eight months.

The above referenced piece maintains that universal, “care insures that everyone gets the same care but of necessity it will be of lower quality. In order to control the cost the government will limit payment and determine treatments. Doctors will be required to use only what the government determined was the ‘best practice’ to treat your case, even if it doesn’t work for you. Doctors will be punished for using treatments that were not a listed best practice. Government directed medicine will result in fewer practitioners because their practice is controlled by the government, not their ability.” You might want to take a moment and read that last one more time. Does this sound like America to you? Does this even remotely resemble the America you grew up in? Yeah, same here. This is the new United States of America and is brought to you by the Far Left since at least the 1960’s. All of them to a greater or lesser degree despise this country and what it represents. With the election of their Champion, they can literally taste victory. They know it’s coming. Should the Socialist Bastard remain our President then he will be accountable to no one and all the stops will come out. Thus far, believe it or not his actions and pronouncements have been somewhat moderated and restrained but this will not be the case once he is a “lame duck” and can no longer run for the office. If that should happen, and I believe in my blackest moods it will, the damage he has thus far wrought in our country will seem ever so benign compared to what is coming. He will truly assume the mantel of Dictator-in-Chief and Monarch of the Realm! We already know that our Constitution means literally nothing to him and he views it only as an impediment to achieving his overriding goal of bringing the United States to his knees!

The article ominously informs us that, “you will not be allowed to purchase treatments that would not be provided by the government run plan with your own money because that would be unfair to those who could not afford to do so. Obamacare bans private fee-for-service so like Canadians and citizens of many other countries with universal coverage you are not allowed to purchase additional care. That is why so many Canadians come to the U.S. for medical care, even though they have so-called free universal health care.” What happened to choice? What happened to options? What happened to freedom? Again, does this sound like America to you? The piece continues that as, “health care costs rise the government will have to decide whether to raise taxes or cut benefits. The Obamacare law includes the establishment of an Independent Payment Advisory Board whose role is to insure that Medicare Payments are held below the cost of medical inflation,” and that, “rationing will occur if we rely on an appointed government panel to control Medicare funding.” Finally, the piece concludes that however “noble the goal to provide all Americans with adequate health care, Obamacare is not the type of reform that will ensure everyone receives the care they need. Government-run, socialized medicine can only lead to rationed care because they contain no provisions to expand available care while adding patients to the system.” The author uses the word “noble” here. What the Hell is so damned noble about the desire to destroy this nation, trample on our rights, transform us into government slaves while totally wrecking the finest health and health care system known to man? Noble, my sorry old ass!!

An essential question that must be asked is how did this complete charlatan, this utter fraud ever get elected in the first place? Since when have Americans failed to be able to detect a snake-oil salesman in their midst? Folks, we have only ourselves to blame for all of the evil and malfeasance he and his sycophants have and will continue to perpetrate on this country. We sat complacently back and let the Liberal juggernaut roll right over us! That’s right, we did this to ourselves. We’ve had ample warning about the horrors of socialized medicine and how thoroughly crippling it is to freedom, liberty, and opportunity. We’ve witnessed it’s absolute failure in nation after nation and yet we still allowed this con artist to get elected. Yes, it’s our fault. We stopped teaching core American values and traditions to our “young uns” both in our homes and our schools. We no longer teach the concept of American Exceptionalism or the crucial importance of patriotism. We no longer teach our young to appreciate all of the magnificent contributions America has made and given to the world since our very inception! We no longer extol our nation’s leading role of spreading liberty to literally hundreds of millions of folks all over the globe or that we are the most compassionate and generous people to ever inhabit the planet.

No, we don’t do that anymore. Instead, we have turned our children over to those who despise and denigrate this country at every turn. Our students are taught from elementary school that America is evil and constitutes the worst scourge in the history of humanity! They are brainwashed into believing that we are oppressors, deniers of freedom, and a deadly threat to the very planet itself. The kids learn from a very early age that Free Market Capitalism is by its very nature brutal, unfair, and immoral (see The Morality of the Free Market Capitalism Rant of 12/1/11).

Socialism they learn is the epitome of humanitarianism, compassion, and altruism. All of this and more are reinforced in high school and at the university level (see The Anti-Americanism in our Public Schools Rant of 6/29/11). By the time they graduate from college they are lost to us and are putty in the hands of puppet masters like Obama and his Mob. They are taught that there is no shame in taking wealth from people who earn it and redistributing it to those who don’t and they believe that government is the source of all of our rights and liberties. Our Founding Documents – you know, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights – are either not taught or if they are they are denigrated in the extreme. Our brilliant Founding Fathers are viewed only as racist, slave-holding cretins who did nothing but slaughter the noble Native Americans and earned their wealth off the backs of the poor. They are referred to as those long dead white men!

Given the state of America’s educational system, the complete melt-down of the American family, and the almost total destruction of the concept of limited government along with the rise of the Nanny State Mentality it is no surprise at all that our country faces a crisis of crippling if not deadly proportions. It should, then, not have surprised me that an out and out unapologetic and proud Socialist won the ultimate seat of power – but it did. I was utterly shocked. If it happens again, therefore, I will not be surprised. No, should that happen I’ll haul my ass down to the compound, stock up on ammo and provisions, and just wait there until it’s time to pull a Randy Weaver!!

You have probably by now discovered in your life’s sojourn that we are judged at least in part by the company we keep. If, for example, you are regularly seen in the company of known criminals and thugs then don’t be at all surprised if you are viewed by many as the same type of person. If, conversely, you are regularly seen in the company of members of your church or synagogue and people know you faithfully attend weekly services, then other impressions will be consigned to you. It’s human nature and it’s never going to change. The same is true of those in leadership positions in the United States. Obama and Jeremiah Wright are inexorably and forever linked. It is assumed by most of us that the President and the Preacher hold much the same views on the State and the nature and role of government. It’s a natural assumption.

The same can be said of those that the Great Leader appoints or nominates to high positions in his administration. After all, wouldn’t you nominate and/or appoint like-minded and kindred spirits? It’s almost unnatural to select someone with diametrically opposing world views and philosophies. Let’s look, then, for a moment at the individual selected by the Anointed One to run both Medicare and Medicaid in the United States. In a piece entitled, “Obama’s Rationing Man (http://spectator.org),” We are informed that the individual was one Donald Berwick, a Harvard professor. The gentleman was picked by El Jefe to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and he has a, “self-professed love affair with Britain’s socialized health care system.” In fact, in both his writing and speeches the man, “has defended government rationing and advocated centralized budget caps on health care spending.” Huh, go figure.

The gentleman warns that, “Cynics beware, I am a romantic about the (British) National Health Service; I love it.” He goes on to explain that government, “is an extraordinarily important player in the American health care scene, and it has inescapable duties with respect to improvement of care, or we’re not going to get improved care.” Did you catch that? Without government, the quality of health care in America will decline precipitously and crumble into dysfunction. This is an absolutely revealing statement about the role of government in American life and perfectly reflects the views of good old Barry Boy.

Only Big Government can properly provide for our needs in the fields of health and health care. Does this damned poltroon really not grasp the fact that virtually all advances made in these fields have come via our Free Market Capitalist economic system? Does he not understand the concept that it is the entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to take risks and invest one’s own money that has led to literally all of the technical achievements, innovations, and marvels that today are routinely taken for granted in this great country? Has he not a clue that more government involvement and interference in the sphere of the private sector only stifles innovation and creativity and does all but destroy productivity and competition? Is it possible that these statist, collectivist dolts really do not comprehend these basic concepts or are they merely faithfully and blindly spouting the party line?

The piece goes on to opine that there, “are two basic visions for how to contain the growth of health care spending. The free market approach would give individuals control over their health care dollars, with the idea that it would encourage more shopping that would drive down costs and increase quality as has happened in every other aspect of the consumer-based economy.” Well, we certainly can’t have that in Obama’s Socialist transformation of our nation, now can we? Give the citizens of the country more control over their own lives? Give us more choices and freedom? No way this side of Hell will these autocratic thugs willingly do that! No, we have chosen through the passage of Obamacare to have government ration our health care and decide who will live and who will be abandoned. Does that sound like America to you? Yes, folks, elections really do have consequences. Obviously, the Bamster “rejected the market-based approach, and sought to drastically expand insurance coverage while reducing health care costs.” In fact, “the new law will actually increase health care costs. That leaves rationing of care based on a bureaucratic notion of the common good as the remaining option for containing skyrocketing spending, and it’s an outcome that Berwick once predicted would be necessary to achieve universal coverage.”

There is simply no getting around the fact that Obamacare with its emphasis on government intrusion into and control of such personal and private aspects of life as our health care denies and makes a mockery of America’s traditions, values, and heritage. It eviscerates our Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights and it puts us firmly on the path to full-blown, unabashed Socialism. These conclusions cannot be denied. Obamacare with its rationing and death panels must be that line in the sand, that hill upon which we battle to the death to save our country and our way of life. Make no mistake, for we are in a literal life and death struggle for our future and that of our kids and grandkids. If this legislation from Hell is not repealed and forever destroyed the United States of America will simply cease to exist in any meaningful or recognizable form. It will no longer be the nation we love and cherish and will place us firmly on John A. Friedrich’s Road To Serfdom! There can be no other outcome or result and Americans should be outraged, furious, and exorcized over that real and looming possibility. This is why the 2012 Presidential election will undoubtedly be the most pivotal political battle we will have ever had to fight!

Many of us are indeed angry and acrimonies over the direction our Socialist Leader has taken us and can only imagine the horrors he will inflict if he wins a second term. Republicans have been handed on a silver platter the weapon that will bring victory with the passage of Obamacare and all of its attendant ills and evils. Yet, throughout the Republican primaries this has not been an overriding issue. When the nominee is finally selected, the candidate had damned well better be screaming about death panels and rationing and the devastation they will bring to our system of health and health care. It must be harped on and emphasized constantly, consistently, and passionately. This issue, among others, can and will throw the Bastard out of office and he can retire to some university, indoctrinate our children, and drink adult beverages at the University Club! He must not be allowed to continue making decisions designed to weaken and destroy America. Republicans have indeed been given a gift here but the question is will they use it and use it effectively? I have my doubts about this, for time and again these folks habitually are able to uncannily snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

An article entitled, “Get Ready for Healthcare Rationing Under Obamacare: Truly Evil What the Democrat Socialists Have Planned for America in the Future (http://sodahead.com),” notes, “They’re back. Rationing, death panels, socialism, all those nasty old words that helped bring Republicans victory in 2010, and that came to seem so impolite after November of that year. They’re back because of IPAB. Remember that acronym. It stands for The Independent Payment Advisory Board. IPAB is the real death panel, the true seat of rationing, and the royal road to health-care socialism. President Obama won’t admit to any of that, but his speech in response to Paul Ryan’s plan did push IPAB out of the shadows and into public view, however briefly.”

Author Stanley Kurtz continues that if, “Republicans don’t seize the IPAB issue and run with it, they’ll be losers in 2012. Policy wonks and political junkies may know a bit about this health-care rationing panel, but most Americans have barely heard of it. That has got to change. And the only way to expose and explain the dangers of IPAB is to tell the truth about Barack Obama.” The article continues that, “Rationing, death panels, socialism, and deception. It’s all there.” Additionally, “a body of unelected bureaucrats has the power to cut off care through arbitrary rules based on one-size-fits-all calculations, just as in Britain. IPAB is the key to socialized, single-payer health-care, which is and always has been Obama’s ultimate goal. If Republicans remain unwilling to point out Obama’s unavowed socialist aims, they will be thrown onto the defensive by Obama’s class warfare rhetoric. That spells defeat in 2012.”

Folks, if “WE” lose the upcoming election and the Socialist Scum Dog is given another four years, the havoc and destruction he will wreak on our nation will be devastatingly catastrophic! It will absolutely mean the end of our way of life and will certainly be the final nail in the coffin that will have become the United States!!

Much Luv Y’all and Have a Great Day!

The Dependency In America Rant

Americans have historically been known and even defined by such characteristics and traits as rugged individualism, self-reliance, risk-taking, and a “Get-R-Done” attitude. As a people we have always been imbued with a boundless sense of optimism, pride, and an overwhelming measure of self-confidence. We have had, like no other people on the planet, an absolute belief that the future is filled with unrivalled opportunity for those who took advantage of the blessings with which our nation has been endowed. Endless possibilities could be found and realized here and no dream need be left unfulfilled. In addition, we have always been extremely pragmatic and practical in all of our undertakings and have been imbued with a supreme sense of hopefulness. Show us an obstacle, and we’ll find a way to go around it, over it, under it, or right through it to accomplish any given goal or end. Behind all of the above traits lay an overwhelming sense of glorious independence and a belief that we are in charge of and responsible for our own destiny and future.

We have become so steeped in our sense of independence that we have come to despise and abhor anything remotely resembling or smacking of dependence for that condition wreaks of weakness and failure which Americans are just not familiar with. Dependency is seen as a character flaw which must be rectified if we desire to live lives that are satisfying, productive, and meaningful. Dependence, most of us have been taught, means that one must rely on others in order to achieve what we perceive to be our goals, dreams, and aspirations. It means that our future is not in our own hands but rather rests with others. Additionally, dependence necessarily means a lack of freedom to do what we feel is in our own self-interest and to accomplish what we deem necessary and fulfilling in our lives. The more independent we become, the more complete we are as individuals and as we give up our independence the less fulfilling and satisfying our lives become.

Can any of us, however, achieve complete and utter independence in our highly technical, complex, and hectic 21st Century existence? Of course not and this is for the best. Infants and children, for example, by definition are dependent on parents and older family members to provide for their material and other needs. It must be so for throughout the history of civilization it has been the duty of the older generations to prepare the “young-uns” to become active, contributing members of society. They must be taught the requisite survival skills whether it be in the era of hunting and gathering or in the era of computers and rocket science. The young are and must be dependent on their elders whether in the human or animal kingdoms. We are, obviously, not born out of whole cloth but must be shaped and molded so that at some future point the young become the leaders and providers who will guide and shape those behind them to one day take their place in society. If raised properly, the youngsters as they mature into adults will naturally seek their independence, live their own lives, and make their own decisions. Until that point, however, dependence is a natural condition.

In addition, the complexities of life itself force us to depend on others in a myriad of ways. We live in a highly specialized society that by definition precludes any of us from becoming one hundred percent, totally independent and self-sustaining. Most of us today cannot, for example, grow our own food or slaughter animals for meat. We must rely on others who specialize in these endeavors to do so. Most folks today cannot repair their own vehicles or self-diagnose serious illness but rather rely on the talents of highly trained and skilled others. The vast majority of us cannot build our own domiciles or replace or repair faulty wiring. How many of us can make our own foot-gear or other articles of clothing? It’s probably safe to say that very few amongst us can build, repair, or fly commercial airliners that have become such a familiar and necessary part of our lives. How many of us have the skill and knowledge to install or fix a broken boiler in the middle of a record-setting winter or do the same with an air conditioner when the temperature hovers at just under one hundred degrees? We are, then, obviously dependent on others in many ways just to get through an ordinary day and to deny this aspect of our existence is to blind oneself to life’s realities and necessities. The types of dependence thus far enumerated are normal, natural, and beneficial. They promote and foster human interaction and engagement, provide huge numbers of Americans with employment and profit, and are a mainstay of our Free Market Capitalist economic system. They are nothing but positive.

The dependency that must be feared, avoided, and destroyed at all costs and by any and all means is anything but beneficial or benign and that is a growing and overwhelming dependence on government to provide our every want and need from cradle to grave! This flies in the face of our history, traditions, and institutions that made us the freest, most opportunity-laden nation in the history of the planet. In no small part, our historic lack of dependence on government has made the United States the shining beacon it has become. It is this lack of dependence on government that has made America the wealthiest nation in the history of nations and changing the relationship between the governed and those who govern will send our country crashing to its knees and will constitute a fall from which we can never recover! The men who founded this great nation knew full-well that to maintain freedom, government must be extremely limited in scope, size, and power. After all, they had lived under a tyrannical system where freedom and liberty simply did not exist. They experienced first hand and up close the ravages imposed on a populace by an all-powerful, all-encompassing centralized system of government.

This is precisely why the Constitution they crafted limited and severely restricted the powers given to the Federal Government. If you haven’t read it in a while, or perhaps not at all, then do so. It’s worth the effort. Pay special attention to the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to that amazing document. It is replete with restrictions on the powers of our government and lays out in the clearest and most unambiguous language what the government CANNOT do to us! At the time, this was truly radical and totally unheard of. To limit the power of government had never been seriously suggested or attempted at least not out loud in front of God and everybody else. To even suggest such a course of action was tantamount to a death sentence as the signatories to the Declaration of Independence were all too aware. They really did pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to the cause of independence and they meant every word of it! They knew that an all-powerful, all-consuming centralized government meant the utter and absolute destruction of any kind of freedom or liberty. They understood that government by its very nature would always garner more and more power unto itself at the expense and to the regret of the citizenry. It had been so for thousands upon thousands of years and those great men of vision and character were determined that it wouldn’t happen in the United States.

If those long dead “white guys” could but see what has happened to their creation over the centuries, they would collectively demand a second American Revolution for our government has become at least as tyrannical and intrusive as that of King George all those years ago. It seems that in the 21st Century, there is virtually no aspect of our lives that is not in some way touched, controlled, or affected by the heavy and arbitrary hand of Big Brother. This is not accidental or caused by mere happenstance. This is the result of a perniciously planned, well thought out, and brutally implemented policy of the Far Left in our nation and has been going on since at least the 1960’s. The Far Left in America, the LFE (Liberal Fucking Elite), wants an all-powerful, omnipotent centralized government that only they, of course, will control. They view the citizenry as no more than unthinking, witless, and mindless boobs who must be led and controlled by their “betters.” We obviously are not capable or intelligent enough to make decisions and adopt courses of action that will move America forward.

We do not possess the requisite vision or enlightened attitudes to qualify us to navigate our country through turbulent and stormy seas. We must leave such weighty matters to those on the Far Left who don’t merely want to govern but desire nothing less than to rule as did the monarchs of yore. In their arrogant, condescending, and paternalistic attitude we are the children to be led around by the nose and told what to do, how to do it, and when and why to do it! We, you see, are not capable of making reasonable and rational decisions as to how to run the country or even, for that matter, our own lives and those of our children. Only the Anointed Ones, the Chosen, possess the wisdom and intellect to do that! This kind of extreme hubris is obviously brought on by some form of mental illness or instability and it might make for an interesting seminar topic or round table discussion were it not for the fact that these Bastards are destroying America as historically envisioned and currently constituted!

Yes, yes, I know. I seem to be stuck somewhere between extreme paranoia and out of control hysteria! Is it really possible that those on the Far Left actually want and demand to destroy all that has made the United States the greatest nation in the history of the world? Can it actually be that the saboteurs want to see an America that is weaker and less influential on the world stage? Can it really be that many of our own citizens actually believe that we are no better – and probably worse – than the cruelest of regimes like Communist China, Nazi Germany, or nations controlled by Sharia Law? Sadly, even tragically, these people do exist and have been very patient and effective in implementing their nefarious plans and machinations. Their collective goal is the very destruction of the United States and all it has historically come to represent and stand for. To them we are no better than the Evil Empire identified by Ronald Reagan or the Axis of Evil that old “W” spoke about so forcefully and eloquently!

They want to turn America into but one more failed Socialist state whose citizens will be literally dependent on government for everything in their lives. You name it and those on the Far Left want us to come crawling, begging, and groveling for our hand-outs from Big Brother! They are all about power and control and absolutely nothing else. If you don’t think so, just take the blinders off and open you eyes really wide. Who, for example, are some of the Socialist-in-Chief’s most powerful advisors? That’s right, his various “Czars” who are elected and approved by no one and accountable only to him. They serve at his pleasure and there’s not one damned thing we can do about it! Government, if you recall, is supposed to be accountable to us and not the other way around! His wife, the First Queen, wants to dictate the types of food we can and can’t consume from salt to trans-fats to red meat and to anything else She Who Must Be Obeyed deems dangerous to our health and well-being. Hey, Michelle Baby, I got a request. Keep your grubby mitts off my burger and fries and I won’t make fun of that bogus garden of yours! How about it?

Just in case it has escaped you, the cost of oil and gas are approaching levels that can only be described as freedom-killing. Does this bother old Barry and the Boys even slightly? Nope, for this is exactly what they want and desire to succeed in making Americans completely dependent on government. The President’s Secretary of Energy stated recently that he and the administration were not at all interested in reducing our nation’s energy costs but rather want to wean us off of oil altogether so we will be forced to go to unreliable and as yet unproven “alternative” forms of energy. One of the Great Leader’s most recent suggestions is that we turn for our energy needs from oil to pond scum – you know, algae! Yeah, that’ll really work. The point here, of course, is that the more successful the Bamster is, the less free the rest of us become and remember, that’s his ultimate goal! Fuel prices have a great deal to do with our freedom of mobility and our freedom of choice. The more expensive the fuel the less free we are to travel, the less free we are to find employment, and the less free we are to even choose the types of vehicles we will purchase!

And, of course, he lies! He’s not merely mistaken or misinterpreting the facts as they exist. He’s not reading it wrong, he just lies! His latest claim is that we as a nation have about 2% of the world’s energy reserves but consume at least between twenty and twenty-five percent of the same. Crap, Hooey, and Balderdash! In fact, the percentage of the world’s energy reserves that lay beneath our feet in our own country is at least 60 times greater than what he claims! At present, we have at least 1.5 trillion barrels of oil and natural gas at our disposal, we know where it is, and have the technology to harvest it. That’s 1.5 trillion with a “T.”! We have enough energy at our disposal at current levels of consumption to last us at least for the next 250 to 300 years! The problem, then, is not with the supply of energy at our disposal but rather with ideology. This Bastard is such a whore to the “Environmental Lobby” that he will do their bidding no matter the harm it does to our nation. Additionally, our technology has reached such an advanced level that we can recover these resources without harming the environment even slightly! Oil and the products refined from it are the cleanest and most efficient forms of energy we have. This is not merely an opinion but is a matter of fact. Why, then, will our Vaunted Leader not allow us to go after it? Do you know that since he became El Jefe he has issued exactly no permits to allow additional exploration or drilling for the stuff? The Evil President Bush granted over 40,000 such permits and during his tenure the price of gas went down! Doesn’t this tell you anything? It’s a clear signal that the last thing he wants is to see this nation achieve any sort of energy independence. He’d rather keep importing the stuff from other nations and thereby keep us dependent on them. American independence is just not part of his mind-set or world view!

The price of fuel should be dictated by the tenets and laws of our Free Market Capitalist economic system for it has proven over the centuries to work brilliantly! Not so for Obama and his Quislings. While we are literally awash in such things as oil and natural gas, the price of those commodities continues to sky-rocket. Well what then is the damned problem? Obama and his Bunch won’t allow us to go after it, bring it out of the ground, and refine it. This is all part and parcel of his grand design to bring this nation to its knees and keep us dependent on foreign sources of energy. Does this sound like independence to you? The Bastard killed the Keystone Pipeline, grants virtually no permits to drill in the Gulf of Mexico, and has steadfastly refused our energy companies from exploring and drilling in ANWR! Additionally, we have more coal reserves than any other nation on the planet and yet this Silly Son Of A Bitch has publicly declared that he will put that entire industry out of business!

The aforementioned pipeline and the Alaskan reserve can literally provide tens and tens of thousands of well-paying jobs for American citizens and quite literally hundreds of thousands of ancillary or related instances of both employment and entrepreneurship. Yet this Huckster has the utter cajones to tell us how concerned he is about the country’s current state of unemployment! To this I say a whopping Bullshit and Balls!! The higher the unemployment rate gets in America the more people must depend on the government for their unemployment checks and their very survival and we know that eligibility has been extended to an unprecedented 99 weeks. Does this sound like independence to you!?! Yeah, me too.

It is inconceivable to me that our nation has moved so far and so fast away from its heritage, traditions, and founding and yet that is apparently the case. To give up one’s independence in favor of dependence on government smacks to me of a complete and utter lack of pride and this is singularly un-American to its very core. Pride in country and pride in accomplishment and progress constitute two of America’s outstanding traits and both seem to be in shamefully short supply under the Bamster’s tenure. A willingness, even an eagerness, to depend on government largesse also displays a lack of personal pride that will, if left unabated, completely and forever destroy the very fabric of our society and way of life. How much pride in self does it take to shamelessly stick one’s hand out and say gimme, you owe me, I am entitled?(see related video)

How much personal pride does it take to demand – not ask for – food, housing, clothing, transportation and all of life’s other necessities and feel absolutely no sense of shame or remorse in the process? Yet this is what has happened and continues to happen in modern-day America. I give you as merely one small piece of anecdotal evidence a recent lottery winner from the state of Michigan. A woman there won a million dollars! Nice pay day and return on investment, huh? After the government finished taking its rapacious cut, she was left with over half a million – all hers. She bought a new house and car with part of the loot and no one I’m sure begrudged her one little bit of her new found financial good fortune. So, what’s the problem? Before her windfall, she was receiving about two hundred dollars a month in food stamps from the generous folks in Michigan and the rest of America. She wholeheartedly continued to believe that she should still be entitled to her stipend. After all, her convoluted reasoning maintained that she was still unemployed!

An article entitled, “Dependence on Government Highest in History (http://blog.heritage.org),” is depressing in the extreme. It notes, for example, that when JFK was in power about 25% of all federal spending paid for some 21.7 millions of Americans to be dependent on government. Today, however, government dependence has literally exploded, “with one in five Americans – more than 67.3 million – depending on Washington for assistance.” The piece continues that we have seen, “an alarming trend under the Obama administration of a level of dependence on our government that has never been seen before. Today, a full 70 percent of the federal government’s budget goes to pay for housing, food, income, student aid, or other assistance, with recipients ranging from college students to retirees to welfare beneficiaries.” Does this give you just a slight insight as to the direction our country has taken? Additionally, “government dependency jumped 8.1 percent in the last year, with the most assistance going toward housing, health and welfare, and retirement,” and that the, “federal government spent more tax dollars than ever before in 2011 to subsidize Americans.” Author Mike Brownfield quotes Representative Allen West saying that, “this disturbing trend does not bode well for our country and, in fact, will ultimately lead to an America where dependence – not independence – becomes the norm.” Furthermore, the Congressman insists that those, “in Congress need to do our part to aid the struggle for more personal responsibility. We need to reduce government spending levels so we are taking less from America’s producers of economic growth.”(see related video)

Sounds good, doesn’t it? Makes sense too. The problem is that as more and more of us relinquish our independence to government programs and assistance the more difficult it becomes to do without them. It seems that dependence has become our collective drug of choice. West warns that the, “federal government is about to burst at the seams. The United States simply cannot afford to continue fostering a society when a growing number of people are dependent on the federal government and not themselves.” He further warns that if, “this trend continues, America will see an increasing division between those who pay for programs that advance dependence, and those who accept – and expect – the assistance from those programs.”

The points thus far enumerated merely scratch the surface of just how dependent the American people have become on our out of control and virtually omnipotent central government. It seems that there is literally no area of our lives into which the government does not intrude. This is entirely understandable from the point of view of the Statists who are Hell-bent on socializing every single aspect of life in America no matter how seemingly insignificant. How else can we explain the fact that in less than one full term in office the Brother-in-Chief has added something like 80,000 new regulations and restrictions on our freedom and independence? This is what Socialism requires. While you can still, for example, own a business in America the regulations imposed make it almost impossible to successfully run it let alone make a profit. Profit, you see, is a dirty word to those of the LFE!

The inability to realize a satisfying return on one’s efforts and risks make it less and less attractive to even attempt to do so and that will over time spell the death of our glorious Free Market Economic System. This is no mere accident or the result of happenstance. This is part of a purposeful and nefarious plan designed to destroy our nation as we have come to love and cherish it. Destroying Capitalism will so change the nature and structure of America that it simply will not be recognizable to those of us who were born, raised, and educated here. We will have become no more or less than that liberalized, feminized, and socialized entity known as Western Europe where freedom has all but disappeared and government reigns supreme. This is exactly and precisely what’s coming our way if Liberalism is not soundly, thoroughly, and decisively defeated!

An article entitled, “20 Signs That The Culture Of Government Dependence Has Gotten Completely And Totally Out Of Control (http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com),” speaks eloquently to the unsettling fact that ever more Americans are succumbing to the seductive lure of increased government intrusion and dependence and thus a loss of freedom. It has been going on for so long now that too many of us recognize it as natural and normal and thus no longer understand the threat that it actually is. The author points out that, “there are now tens of millions of Americans that would not be able to survive without government assistance,” and that, “we have created a culture of dependence in this country. Americans that are now in their prime working years have been taught all of their lives that the government is going to take care of them from the cradle to the grave.”

In fact, this “culture of government dependence has gotten completely and totally out of control and now nearly half of all American households receive some form of government benefits. As a result, our debt is absolutely exploding, everyone looks to the government to solve our problems and very few Americans seem to possess a very strong work ethic any longer.” There is no way that any reasonable observer of the United States in the 21st Century can honestly disagree with the above conclusions. The only disagreement with what is happening to our country is whether or not one welcomes the direction we have taken. Unfortunately, it seems that more and more of our population looks forward to the changes being wrought by the Socialists among us or at least feel helpless to prevent them. This does not sound like the country I was born and raised in.

The author correctly insists that the, “truth is that the government is not your mommy and daddy. The government is not there to take money away from someone else and give it to you. The government is supposed to be the referee – not your own personal care taker.” The fact is that far too many of us view the government exactly and precisely as described above and that is because, “from the time they were babies millions of Americans have been taught to be completely dependent on the government. If we suddenly just cut them off they would not be able to make it. They simply have never been taught how,” and that a, “growing percentage of Americans have never learned how to make it on their own.” Whatever happened, I wonder, to time-honored American traits and characteristics like self-reliance, rugged individualism, and independence? What happened to our national character and psyche that permitted this culture of dependence to flourish and thrive? What caused us to morph into a nation of whiners, takers, and blamers? What has caused our obvious lack of shame and utter dearth of pride? The answers are not all that complicated and it is no more or less than full-blown, out of control, radical Liberalism as espoused by the LFE and its minions. Liberalism constitutes the absolute antithesis of proud and proven American values, traditions, and mores. Unfortunately, at this juncture in our history that thoroughly evil and destructive philosophy seems to be winning the culture war that has been raging unabated for decades!

The writer of the piece runs through a litany of indices that illustrate our nation’s growing dependence on government which by definition high-light our inability or refusal to depend on ourselves, our initiative, and creativity. He explains that 48.5% of American households receive some form of government aid or benefit and that far, “too many Americans believe that the government should just swoop in and solve all of their problems.” The article explains that the amount paid by government to individuals is both staggering and rising and that when, “you total it all up, American households are now receiving more money from the U.S. government than they are paying to the government in taxes.” We learn that we spent more than 50 billion dollars in “housing assistance” in 2009 and there are a stunning, “45 million Americans on food stamps,” which means that, “approximately one out of every seven Americans is dependent on the federal government for food.” Additionally, since 2007, the number of us receiving food stamps has increased by a whooping 74%, that 25% of children in America rely on food stamps and that, “64.3 million Americans depended on the government (read: their fellow citizens) for their daily housing, food, and health care during 2009.” The article concludes that we, “need to stop waiting for the government to fix everything,” and that the, “government is not going to fix our lives,” or those of the people around us. The piece correctly maintains that we, “need to start taking responsibility for our own lives and for our own communities.”

That’s damned sound advice from someone who appears to have his head screwed on right and his priorities in order. The question we must ask ourselves, however, is it already too late? Have we reached the point of no return, have we gone over the cliff of dependence so far that we simply can’t reverse the trend? Is this spirit-destroying dependence now a permanent feature and characteristic of our being and existence as a nation and a people? Have we changed so much from the days of our founding that the lessons taught and learned way back then are no longer relevant in 21st Century America? There are those of us out here who fear that the answer is yes and that our country as we have learned to love it has been lost to us forever. We trace it back to the time in our history when the Charity Mentality turned into the Entitlement Mentality. We believe that this is a major factor in what can only be termed as the demise of the United States of America!

Charity as defined by the Oxford Dictionary of Current English is the, “voluntary giving of money or other help to those in need,” and it has been one of our most defining characteristics as a nation and a people since our founding. It was help freely given and without any hint or trace of government coercion or involvement. It was given from individual to individual or perhaps from a voluntary organization set up freely by like-minded citizens. It was an intensely personal and individual experience and was done out of a sense of duty and obligation to help ease the plight of those who were temporarily down on their luck and needed a hand up. It was never meant to be a permanent condition or serve as a drain on our national well being.

Those who found themselves on the receiving end of charitable hand-outs borne by their neighbors did so with an extreme sense of shame and guilt. To have to receive charity meant to admit you were a failure – a total and utter failure! You could not support yourself or your family. You could no longer afford life’s necessities and had to rely on others to do so. Charity was received and accepted with a palpable sense of extreme gratitude, thankfulness, and utter humiliation! With it came an absolute determination to become once again self-supporting and proud in the shortest possible time. To assume this would exist for life and that you would be dependent on others in perpetuity was too horrific to even contemplate. To receive charity was to be stigmatized for it meant that the recipient was seen as anathema. To be forced to beg for one’s sustenance was the most shameful of all shameful situations. It showed one and all that you no longer possessed the least little iota or shred of self-respect and pride. What’s more, it worked. Charity was actually a short-term if extreme fix and most folks did whatever was necessary to correct those problems that were holding them back. It had always been so in this country, until fairly recently. Family took care of family and neighbor took care of neighbor. It was an intensely personal relationship and an extremely painful one for the recipient.

Not so anymore. What was once charity gratefully received has become “Entitlement” belligerently demanded! Entitlement means, “to give someone a right to do or to have.” The poor – those that cannot do for themselves – now have a right to get what they need from our nation’s productive class. This is easily one of the most arrogant mind-sets on the planet and it has been foisted upon us by the Far Left in our midst. All sense of shame and guilt has disappeared and those with their hands out whole-heartedly believe that they are entitled to the fruits of the labor of others. This condition has been institutionalized and fostered by government in the form of food stamps, housing credits, the welfare check, medical care and medicine, and so very much more.

As referenced earlier, 70% of our national budget is eaten up by our current entitlement programs and we as a people are forced to participate. We have no choice for the poor are supported almost exclusively by our tax dollars which the vast majority of us dare not withhold for fear of government reprisal and punishment. We have been coerced into giving our hard-earned and limited personal resources to those whom we may not deem worthy of our generosity or largesse. We no longer have anything at all to say about who gets what we have earned and the concept of wealth transference and the entitlement mentality have become permanent fixtures of American life. This defies everything America has come to represent over the centuries and unless reversed in one big damned hurry spells the death of this nation!

An article entitled, “A Nation of Government Dependents (www.americanthinker.com),” explains that our government, “at least as older citizens know it, is nearly extinct. Politicians are killing it by encouraging government profligacy and dysfunction at the federal and state levels and in many local jurisdictions as well.” Dependence on government has become systemic and has reached the point where it is literally strangling the freedom right out of us. So many Americans, especially the younger generations, have never known anything else so to them a Big Brother existence is the norm. They have no yard stick with which to measure how much freedom and thus dignity they no longer have compared to those of us who have been around for awhile. Care for just two seemingly innocuous and minor examples? Sure. I give you mandatory seat belt and helmet laws. Yes, I know. You think I’m being silly, ridiculous, and that I’m grasping at straws.

Really? I remember many years ago when I got into my 1968 muscle car that would easily hit 200 MPH, I rarely chose to use the seat belt. It may have been stupid, reckless, and dangerous but the point is it was MY CHOICE to make! I wasn’t forced by government to wear the belt and seriously, if I hit that bridge abutment at 95 miles per hour and went crashing through the windshield straight to my demise who the Hell else was I hurting? You got it, nobody. Wearing that contraption was my personal choice and responsibility and if I ended up dead or permanently injured I had no one to blame but myself and I alone paid the price. I enjoyed the freedom to make my own choice and live or die with the consequences.

Similarly, the same was true when I rode a Harley. If I chose to go helmetless, fly over the high side at 85 MPH, and go splat that was nobody’s damned business but mine! I was free to ride without the thing and no one could care less. Not anymore. Going sans helmet or not “buckling up” is now a violation of the law because I, obviously, can’t be trusted to make my own decisions or live my life the way I so choose. Only the government can do that because we common slobs, us little folk, are just too incompetent! Do you have any idea how FUCKING insulting and demeaning that is?!? Even kids riding their two-wheelers are impacted by the heavy, over-bearing hand of government run amok. The decision as to whether or not a child must wear a helmet while tooling around on his Schwinn should be left to the family and not to some pencil-pushing beaurocrat holed up in some government office! Yes, we are losing our freedoms from the smallest to the largest and that is due to the mentality of dependence on government that has steadily but surely deprived us of our liberty and our choices!

Government dependence is quite literally killing this once great country. It has changed us in ways never intended or envisioned by our Founding Fathers or those American that shaped and molded our core values and traditions. According to a piece entitled, “A Nation of Takers (http://patriotpost.us),” there was a time when Americans prided, “themselves on being a self-reliant people. We know that the freedom to make our own fortunes sets us apart from many other nations. It’s what has drawn generations of Americans to our shores – men and women risking their lives to live a life in which they, not the government, are in charge.” Look around and ask yourself whether or not this is still the case. If you answer honestly, then you must reply in the negative. The article continues that with, “each passing year, that portrait flies more and more in the face of reality. The numbers plainly show that we are becoming a people dependent not on ourselves, but on government. We are evolving into a nation of takers, not givers.”

How bad has it become? Let’s see, the piece continues that, “Americans who rely on government receive an average $32,748 worth of benefits. How high is that? Higher than the average American’s disposable income: $32,446.” Why sweat, toil, and work when Big Brother will simply give it to you? Remember, however, that in the process you are literally selling your soul, giving up your freedom, and becoming a slave to an already out of control and far too powerful central government whose only goal has become garnering unto itself as much power as it can at the expense of our liberty and freedom.

The Heritage Foundation deems the problem of dependence in America so important that it actually analyzes and assesses it. In a piece entitled, “The 2012 Index of Dependence on Government (www.heritage.org),” is particularly disturbing. It notes, for example, that “dependence on government by an increasing portion of the American population, and soaring debt that threatens the financial integrity of the economy – worsened yet again in 2010 and 2011.” In fact, “The United States has long reached the point at which it must reverse the direction of both trends or face economic and social collapse.” The study points out that more Americans than at any time in our history depend on the federal government for housing, food, income, student aid, and other assistance, “once considered to be the responsibility of individuals, families, neighborhoods, churches, and other civil society institutions.”

The study warns that dependence, “on the federal government for life’s many challenges strips civil society of its historical and necessary role in providing aid and renewal through the intimate relationships of family, community, and local institutions and local governments.” In fact our nation’s, “republican form of government, with its finely balanced mixtures of civil and political institutions and charitable roles,” is seriously threatened as more and more Americans go on the dole. The report ominously continues that perhaps, “the greatest danger is that the swelling ranks of Americans who enjoy government services and benefits for which they pay few or no taxes will lead to a spreading sense of entitlement that is simply incompatible with self-government.” The Index asks are, “Americans completely indifferent to history’s many examples of republican government collapsing under the weight of just such populations? Are Americans near the tipping point in the nature of their government and the principles that tie it to civil life?” Unfortunately, the answer is obvious and anyone who can’t see the writing on the wall is blind to the reality that America has become.

It seems, according the Index, that “Americans have reached a point in the life of their republic when the democratic political process has become a means for many voters to defend and expand the benefits they receive from government (read: their dependence).” The report further queries, “Do Americans want a republic that encourages and validates a growing dependence on the state and a withering of civil society? Do Americans want to further accentuate class lines between those who pay for programs that advance dependence, and those who unquestioningly accept – and expect – the assistance from those programs? Are Americans ready for the new class warfare, the battle lines of which are drawn by these dividing lines?” The report concludes that these, “are questions increasingly in need of urgent answers,” and that how, “Americans answer them may well determine the ultimate fate of their political system – and society.”

As more and more Americans reply in the affirmative to these and other salient questions, the more quickly we will lose the America we love. How do you answer them, HMMMMM?

Much Luv Y’all and Have a Great Day!

The America As A Third World Country Rant

The United States has long been recognized as the most wealthy and powerful nation the world has ever seen or probably will ever see again. We have no real rivals or even peers for that matter. Think of any category of human endeavor and America is the undisputed global leader – bar none. No other nation or civilization can keep pace with us or even come close. Whether it be science and technology, medicine, communications, growth and development, GDP or per capita income, our country does not even have a close competitor. We are the Big Dog, the undisputed Numero Uno. The simple fact that literally millions upon millions from all over the world clamor and demand to get, live, and work here – both legally and illegally – attests to that very obvious fact. Additionally, it should be noted that virtually no one – native or foreign born – wants to leave. We have been variously dubbed as that shining city upon the hill, the world’s beacon, the land of opportunity and freedom, and literally the only place on the planet where the individual is best able realize his dreams, achieve their full potential, and go as far as their natural ability, talent, and intelligence can take them. We have long understood that the only limitations placed on our pursuit of happiness are those that are self-imposed.

Hell, in the United States even those of our citizens who are classified as “poor” live like royalty when compared to those at the bottom in other countries. America’s poor, for the most part, have vastly more material wealth than the great majority of the world’s population. This is not at all open to dispute – it’s just what is. The poor in our country live, generally speaking, in dwellings that are structurally sound and safe. Additionally, there is usually adequate room for the occupants to co-habit comfortably with the added advantage of abundant clean hot and cold running water and a working, reliable indoor toilet and shower. America’s poor can, therefore, stay relatively clean and healthy.

Compare these conditions to the poor living in places like Africa, Latin America, or the Middle East. Furthermore, America’s poor have free and unfettered access to the world’s finest and most advanced health care system and facilities that the planet has ever experienced. That too is yet another indisputable fact. America’s poor also have easy access to wholesome, nutritious, and fresh food even if they can’t afford it. Research has illustrated that if all of the benefits “entitled” to the poor in the United States were expressed in terms of a dollar amount, it would be something like $60,000 annually – a figure that would make even the most well-to-do Bangladeshi virtually green with envy. Our poor typically have at least one working television and very frequently, they possess two of them. There is always an abundance of “toys” like home entertainment systems replete with, I assume, the latest technology in stereo, VCR, DVD, and anything else to satisfy their audio-visual requirements. Let’s not leave off the list such things as dependable and reliable heating and air conditioning.

As with the poor in any society, however, they are not satisfied with their lot in life – nor should they be for there is simply no reason to be. Our society is eminently fluid and upwardly mobile. If one desires to escape America’s “grinding” poverty, our Free Market Capitalist socio-economic system is designed expressly to that end. It has been truthfully stated that of those who were born into the bottom 20% (fifth quintile) or of those who came here from abroad and had virtually nothing but hope, optimism, and a willingness to work their asses off, only about two to three percent of them remain stuck at the bottom. The rest – with regularity – move into the middle class and higher and as far as their children and grandchildren are concerned – the sky has always been the limit! Historically, this simply has not been possible in other societies where one’s future is arbitrarily decided by the class or caste of one’s birth and there was simply no mechanism to break that endless cycle of rigidity, lack of upward mobility, desperation, and hopelessness. This still holds true for most of the world’s population and the only way to change the “system” has been to violently destroy it. History is rife with example upon example of revolution after revolution in which those at the bottom saw absolutely no way to improve their lot in life without resorting to massive bloody and horrific violence. Not so in America. Our political and social system has always provided an adequate safety valve designed to avoid such brutal upheavals.

America, then, can only be described as the quintessential First World country. In fact, we constitute the very first of the first, if you will. This has been long acknowledged by our own citizens as well as friend and foe alike. There has been us and then everyone else. The world has looked to us to provide stability, prosperity, order, and opportunity and for most of our existence we have responded positively and willingly. In times of natural or man-made disaster, look to America and we will fix the problem. Should world leaders for whatever reason get a bug up their ass and decide to embark on a program of conquest and enslavement – look to America and we will set things right. A tsunami devastates Indonesia – we’re there first. A monsoon ravages Bangladesh and again, we’re there first. The people of the Middle East suffer unspeakable treatment at the hands of their unelected leaders and – that’s right – we’re in there first. Only our wealth, power, and freedom permit this to happen. Only our status as the very first of the First World makes it possible. The world owes us a tremendous debt and we in return ask for – nothing. It’s simply who we as a people and a nation are. We want to laud it over no one, we want to control no one, and we desire to impose our will and hegemony over no one. That’s all part and parcel of what makes the United States a truly First World nation.

What, then, are some of the characteristics of a First World country and where does such an entity fit into the community of nations? According to an article entitled, “Worlds Within The World (www.nationsonline.org),” the, “term First World refers to so-called developed, capitalist, industrial countries, roughly, a bloc of countries aligned with the United States after World War ll, with more or less common political and economic interests: North America, Western Europe, Japan and Australia.” Alright, this seems fairly simple and straightforward enough. First World nations are the most wealthy and developed countries on the planet and historically poverty has been far less of a problem than in Third World countries. Life is easier, more rewarding, and far more technologically advanced in the First as opposed to the Third World. The First World provides much more leisure time than the Third and man has been freed up to pursue the finer, more creative aspects of life including art, music, architecture, great works of literature, plays and the like. In other words, survival in the First World is no longer a precarious, unsure proposition as it too often is in the Third World. Hope and optimism abound in the First World while only despair, pessimism, and hopelessness touch the lives of the overwhelming numbers of denizens of the Third World.

In fact, the same source referenced above correctly notes that the, “concept of the third world serves to identify countries that suffer from high infant mortality, low economic development, high levels of poverty, low utilization of natural resources, and heavy dependence on industrialized nations. These are the developing and less technologically advanced nations of Asia, Africa, Oceana, and Latin America.” Additionally, Third World countries, “tend to have economies dependent on the developed countries and are generally characterized as poor with unstable governments and having high rates of population growth, illiteracy, and disease. A key factor is the lack of a middle class – with impoverished millions in a vast lower economic class and a very small elite upper class controlling the country’s wealth and resources. Most third world nations also have a very large foreign debt.” Still another source maintains that the, “developing nations are characterized with low living levels. Not only the majority of the population of UDCs [undeveloped countries] is poorer as compared with their western counter-parts, but they are also wretched financially in comparison with their own small elites living in big towns and cities. These low levels of living can be observed both quantitatively and qualitatively in the form of low incomes, inadequate housing facilities, poor health, limited or no education, high infant mortality rates (IMR), low life and work expectancy, and a general sense of malaise and hopelessness (www.economicsconcepts.com.)”

Well, then there you have it. The contrast between the First and Third Worlds could not be more clear, distinct, or dramatic. In the First World, it seems, we have it all while the majority of the world’s population is destined to live lives that are, to coin a phrase, nasty, brutish, and very, very short. Sitting on top of the entire heap, of course, is the United States of America. God and fate seem to have favored us as opposed to the rest of humanity and that seems only all too natural and normal for throughout most of our lifetimes it has always been thus and there seems no reason to expect anything else. That’s the way it’s been and that’s the way it’s gonna stay. It simply seems to be the natural order of things. Why would it ever change? You know, I’m quite certain that the citizens of the late, great Roman Empire had similar thoughts and expectations as did those of ancient Athens. They too were in the “Cat-Bird” seat for so long that they simply couldn’t conceive of a world without their overwhelming omnipotence and all-pervasive influence. I’m quite convinced that those living at the zenith of the Spanish Empire held similar views and I believe that England was once referred to as the empire upon which the sun never set. Well, how’d that work out for those fellas, hmmmm? If you graduated from high school and are not a total, absolute troglodyte you know the answer. You ever hear of a multi-volume epic entitled, “The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire?”

What is it then? Do nations and civilizations – like people and forests – have what might be termed natural life spans? Do they too begin in frail infancy, move on to boisterous adolescence to be followed by a robust and vigorous adulthood? Does this, then, evolve into middle age and maturity to be followed by old age, decrepitude, and death? Is it simply a matter of inevitability that may be postponed but can never be avoided or denied? Is that really all there is to it and is America simply destined to follow suit? Or, instead, is America a truly exceptional nation and one not preordained to follow the paths of civilizations that ran their course, made their contributions to the world, and then either went out in a blaze of glory or just ignominiously faded away?

I firmly believe in the concept of American Exceptionalism and all that it entails (see the American Exceptionalism Rant of 11/7/11). This nation is truly exceptional and is indeed apart from the vast masses of humanity. We have accomplished in an amazingly short period of time what other far more ancient civilizations simply could not. We have become truly remarkable in the annals of world history. No other nation has ever amassed so much wealth, power, and prestige. Additionally, we have been an overwhelming force for good in the world. Since America’s inception we have set countless millions free, have provided more aid to those in need and dire straights than any other planetary entity, and have served as an example and beacon to untold multitudes around the world. This is not debatable, disputable, or open to question. These constitute unquestionable and undeniable facts. The only question that remains is how much longer will America be able to fulfill its historic and unprecedented mission and role in the world? The question is worth pondering and considering for we as a people must decide what kind of a country we want to have in the coming decades.

Do we want to maintain an existence based on the concepts and ideals contained in our Founding Documents? Do we want to return to the vision created by the Founding Fathers and embodied in our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence? If we wish to remain the greatest nation in the world, then this is the road we must follow and the path upon which we must tread. To do otherwise is to invite the very destruction of the United States of America and all that it has come to stand for. To veer from the course we have historically navigated is to bring on total disaster for the American way of life and for the way in which we live our own lives as a free and independent people. Are these fears just another example of what might be termed a display of extreme and unwarranted paranoia to be controlled by medication and therapy? No, for you should be acutely aware that there are those amongst us that desire nothing less than to bring this great country to its knees and see to it that America becomes no better but rather worse off than the vast masses of humanity from which we represent such an ahistorical and radical departure. They are the enemy, they are those who wish us ill and want us to fail, and they are the ones who gleefully relish the day when America will have been transformed into but one more miserable, hopeless, and Hellish Third World nation! They are the Liberal Elites, supported by their allies in the “mainstream” media, that so despise their own country, sincerely and rabidly believe that America is the cause of all the world’s evils, and that we need to be brought down to the level of those oppressed and desperately poor countries that constitute most of the world’s population.

America since at least the 1960’s when LBJ’s bogus War On Poverty took hold has been heading in that direction. Liberalism, a thoroughly destructive philosophy and mindset, has been single-handedly responsible for the erosion of traditional American values like self-reliance, rugged individualism, and independence. Liberalism has created a Nanny-State mentality in which more and more of us have come to depend on government rather than ourselves. That venal concept has eroded and will completely destroy this nation’s spirit of self-reliance, self-confidence, and optimism with which America has for so long been associated. This is not an accident or mere happenstance but rather a very well planned, thoughtful, and implemented policy that can’t help but destroy this country as historically constituted and envisioned.

Liberalism destroys any concept of a strong work ethic and independence of thought and action. It wreaks havoc on the very underpinnings of what made the United States the greatest nation the world has ever known. It is the very antithesis of everything we hold dear such as pride in country, patriotism, and the belief that our best days are yet ahead of us. If the Liberal Scum-Dogs among us have their way, our country will become nothing more than yet another Third World Shithole destined for squalor, filth, and a complete lack of freedom. In order to succeed, this is what Liberalism requires. The individual must be made purposefully and drastically subordinate to the state and those “elites” that have taken the reins of power. Creativity, entrepreneurship, and risk-taking must be irrevocably stamped out and destroyed by an all powerful centralized government that will make decisions for the rest of us. Freedom of choice and opportunity will have become nothing more than fond memories while the new reality will resemble something strikingly similar to the Orwellian vision of a people of followers and mindless lemmings. This is where Liberalism is taking us and make no mistake, its advocates and champions are dangerously close to succeeding!

In too many ways, the United States is indeed being inexorably moved toward Third Worldism and this is a planned, purposeful tactic of our Liberal Elite. An article entitled, “Is the USA Becoming a Third World Country (http://ncrenegade.com)?” directly speaks to this point. The piece points out that given the, “USA’s nine consecutive years of negative cash flow, $14.6 trillion in debt in an economy producing annually about the same amount as its debt,” is it really all that shocking that for the first time in the nation’s history our credit rating has been down-graded? This is absolutely unheard of and must be seen as a warning shot across our bow. We have been placed on notice that it’s far beyond the time that we got our house in order. Now that the warning has been duly received, are our leaders behaving prudently and do they seem willing to change the behavior that brought us to this point? Of course not, for the LFE (Liberal Fucking Elite) only want to see more of the same. (see related video)

This is the result they so fervently desire. These guys, led by the Saboteur-in-Chief, do nothing to correct the problems we face but rather exacerbate them at every turn. They have literally taken trillions of dollars out of the private sector where it could be used to build our economy, increase funds coming into the Treasury, expand business, hire new employees, and start new companies. No, our leaders do not do this for they know full-well that this will eventually solve the problems we face and once more place the United States on the right footing. This they simply cannot have. Instead these Socialist Sonsabitches consistently and incessantly drastically raise taxes and regulatory fees when we can least afford them. We’ve seen useless “stimulus” after useless stimulus that have completely failed to produce those “shovel ready jobs” that the clown in the White House has promised. We’ve witnessed anti-Free Market, failed “Bail-Out” after bail-out that were unnecessary at best and miserable failures at worst. He and his cronies desperately want as many Americans as possible dependent on an omnipotent and all-controlling centralized government. If this trend continues, our head-long rush into Third Worldism is all but guaranteed.

The author of the above piece maintains that there are quite a number of indicators that point directly to our looming Third World status. He highlights such things as when, “Government debt is more than the annual production of the country,” and explains that the, “USA Federal government is now over 100% with promised entitlement liabilities of more than another 1,000%!” He further notes that we have seen a drastic, “lowering standard of living. Prices in foodstuffs and gasoline have gone up by over 25% in the past two years, yet salaries remain stagnant.” The piece also points to, “Government rules and regulations that restrict or make it difficult to start up businesses, compete and/or hire,” and that the, “government prohibits the most efficient energy producers to expand production and subsidizes inefficient ones like wind and solar.” The writer, James F. Davis, also includes other indices such as: a currency that is losing its value; rising unemployment; a declining GNP; failing infrastructure; a loss of equal protection under the law; increasing government corruption; and rising dependence of citizens on the government. In fact, Davis points out that, “59% of all Americans receive some type of government assistance with the number of people on food stamps having risen from 25 million to 40 million since the Democrats took over Congress.”

All of the above points to one inescapable conclusion. The backbone of our nation – our middle class – is purposely being destroyed. This is a conscious policy and plan foisted upon us by those in the LFE. The middle class has always constituted the core of American prosperity for it is that group that collectively produces the vast bulk of America’s wealth and prosperity. It is the middle class that is also our creative class and that group is responsible for most of the innovation, new ideas, and vision that America has always been so famous for. Additionally, it is the middle class that provides hope and optimism for those in the United States who make up the lowest rung on our economic ladder. Those at the bottom know that they are not stuck there and that through hard work, perseverance, and determination they too can move up that ladder of success. It is also the middle class that epitomizes traditional American values, mores, and norms.

Look around the world and analyze the social structure of literally of any of those Third World Hellholes in Africa, Latin America, or the Middle East. We notice a small, elite group at the very top of society that controls virtually all the wealth in those nations as well as the government and the armed forces. There is literally no real middle class to speak of save for a small segment of society that exists solely to serve the wants and needs of those at the top. Everyone else, the huge majority of citizens, is beyond poor for poor would be a step up for those unfortunate and oppressed multitudes. They seethe, they roil, and they rage against the conditions they are forced to endure and there is no way out for them.

There is no safety valve called the middle class to which they can realistically aspire. There is no escape, not for them their children or their grandchildren. Hopeless populations are not merely dangerous but are dangerously volatile and thus the explanation for the scores upon scores of violent, bloody, and murderous revolutions that are so common in Third World nations. Thank God we in America have been able to avoid those horrific scenarios and this has been possible only due to the wisdom and genius of our Founding Fathers who gave us the institutions and traditions that allowed for the development of a large, healthy, and prosperous middle class of Americans. The world has always had its extremely wealthy and its extremely poor but up until America graced the planet with its presence, nothing like a middle class had ever really existed and this fact alone is yet one more example of America’s Exceptionalism which is constantly denied and disparaged by the Far Left Elitists in our midst. I give you, for example, our Detractor-in-Chief and his disgustingly but predictable Apologize for America Tours!

Will America always be so blessed? Will we continue to defy conditions that exist for most of the world’s billions? If the LFE in America has its way, the answer is an unmistakable and resounding NO! Unfortunately, if our country continues down the road it is on, Third Worldism will become an inevitable and unavoidable aspect of the nation’s future not so many years from now. An article entitled, “How the U.S. is Quickly Becoming a Third World Country (http://seekingalpha.com),” points out that the United States is, “increasingly similar to a 3rd world country in several ways and is accelerating towards 3rd world status.” The author grimly predicts that the, “evidence suggests that without fundamental reforms, the U.S. will become a post industrial neo-3rd world country by 2032.” If my math is correct, that’s a mere twenty years from now - just two short, tiny little decades. Can it really be that bad? Have we really allowed conditions in America to sink to that point?
(see related video)

According to author Ron Hera, the answer is a depressing and maddening yes. He explains that the fundamental, “characteristics that define a 3rd world country include high unemployment, lack of economic opportunity, low wages, widespread poverty, extreme concentration of wealth, weak rule of law and counterproductive government policies. All of these characteristics are evident in the U.S. today.” These conditions are obviously with us right now and the Liberal-Socialist policies forced upon us by the current administration serve only to exacerbate rather than ameliorate them! To deny that this is happening to us is reminiscent of the fabled ostrich with its head stuck firmly in the sand. The problem with assuming that unfortunate posture is that your ass makes an especially convenient, inviting, and stationary target!

These statements are more than just merely sobering but instead are both frightening and horrifying to contemplate. When we think back to America’s founding and the accompanying sense of hope and optimism, one is forced to conclude that something has indeed gone terribly awry. How could this nation, unarguably the greatest country God ever gave mankind, have fallen so far so fast? Here we are discussing the possibility of America going Third World. I just can’t seem to wrap my mind around that concept for it simply doesn’t jibe with our country’s history and role in the world. America since shortly after its inception has been the Big Dog, the Alpha Male among the world’s nations. This has caused various reactions from other countries that co-habit the planet with us ranging from friendship and admiration to jealousy and envy to downright hostility and open hatred.

Regardless, there has been no doubt on anyone’s part that the United States above all others was the force to be reckoned with. What, then, has changed to the point where the world’s greatest nation may be declining into Third World stupor, malaise, and failure? Has something gone amiss with what has been referred to as America’s First Principles or have our Founding Documents finally outlived their relevance and usefulness? Is it that core American values and traditions like rugged individualism, self-reliance, and independence no longer have a place in our fast-paced, hyper-technical, and homogenized 21st Century? Could it be that America’s time has indeed passed into that nebulous twilight of other once great but failed nation states? A resounding and overwhelming NO to all of the above! America’s traditions, values, and institutions are utterly timeless and are appropriate for all ages and eras. They are what made America so great over the centuries and, if adhered to, can keep us great, vigorous, and prosperous for centuries and millennium to come!

I submit that the changes in America that may drag us down to Third World status have to do with what has happened to the American people. We no longer seem to be the confident, optimistic, and hopeful population we have historically been. We have been imbued with a sense of self-doubt, confusion, and a failure of confidence in the future that has been over the years totally foreign to our way of life and unrivalled success. A nation, much like a team or an individual, that no longer believes in itself can’t succeed but, in fact, is destined and doomed to fail. There can be no other outcome. Success is never possible when accompanied by an overwhelming sense of gloom, doom, and impending disaster. It just isn’t possible. Whereas Americans have always strode forcefully and ever so confidently into the future, we now seem reduced to halting and tenuous steps at best into a future that seems uncertain, frightening, and filled with dread.

This represents a total abrogation and denial of what America and Americans have always admired and aspired to. What the Hell has gone wrong? The answer, simply put, is the advent and onslaught of hard-core, radical, Far Left Liberalism. These are the folks – fellow Americans – who despise this country, its accomplishments, and all it has historically stood for and made it great. They refuse to recognize or accept the undeniable fact that the United States has done more to improve the lot of mankind than any other nation on the planet or in history. They’ll do anything they can to bring America down from First World status and hurl it head-long into that deep abyss of Third Worldism. They relish the thought and literally salivate with glee at the prospect.

Yet, I understand that only about 20% of Americans identify themselves as full-bore, Far Left Liberals. How can roughly one-fifth of the population wield such an overwhelming and disproportionate influence over national events, policies, and character? It is the simple and undeniable fact that they control virtually all of our major national institutions. These include the “mainstream” media, our entire educational system from kindergarten through university, entertainment outlets – especially Hollywood and television – large elements of our political system, our judicial system, and so much more. Our population from infancy through adulthood is literally brainwashed and indoctrinated with the Liberal world view. It’s almost a cradle to grave kind of thing. Americans are being molded and shaped to champion Liberalism, to despise their own country, and wish nothing less than its virtual demise. The prospect of America becoming but one more Third World Hell-Hole literally makes them giddy!

The evidence and the results of that Liberal bias are everywhere around us if we merely accept them for what they are. A piece entitled, “25 Reasons America is Becoming a Third World Country (www.newworldoderwar.com),” notes that only, “ten years ago, the United States was ranked number one in average wealth per adult. In 2010, the United States has fallen to seventh.” Furthermore, “In 2001, the United States ranked fourth in the world in per capita broadband internet use. Today it ranks 15th.” Let’s see, “the economy of India is projected to become larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2050,” and that, “one prominent economist now says that the Chinese economy will be three times larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2040.” These dire predictions and consequences are the direct result of unfettered, full-blown Liberalism that has been fostered upon our nation since at least the 1960’s when LBJ introduced his failed War on Poverty. The article also points out that according to Thomas Reuters, “China could become the global leader in patent filings by next year,” and that the, “United States once had the highest proportion of young adults with post-secondary degrees in the world. Today the U.S. has fallen to 12th,” while, “Back in 1980, the United States imported approximately 37 percent of the oil that we use. Now we import nearly 60 percent of the oil that we use.” Do these facts and figures make you feel good about this nation’s future or do they fill you, as they do me, with trepidation, worry, and anxiety?

The author of this particularly depressing but truthful piece continues that, “American 15-year olds do not even rank in the top half of all advanced nations when it comes to math and science literacy,” that the United States, “has the third worst poverty rate among the advanced nations,” and that the, “United States was ranked as just the ninth most prosperous country in the world. That was down five places from 2008.” Feel like hurting yourself yet? No, just wait. There’s still more to come. The writer notes that, “U.S. government spending as a percentage of GDP is now up to approximately 36 percent,” and that the, “Congressional Budget Office is projecting government public debt will hit 715 percent of GDP by the year 2080.” Not a particularly rosy or optimistic picture is it? Yet this is exactly and precisely what the LFE wants and desires for it means nothing less than the almost total dependence of the citizenry on a centralized, all-powerful, and ever intrusive government that is an absolute hallmark of any Third World country.

Yet another instructive indicator of a nation’s Third World status can be seen by touring its major or even minor urban centers. To ride through these cities is literally to take your life in your hands and this statement is to be taken quite literally. These places are some of the most dangerous, disease infested, and poorest locations on the planet. They reek of filth and garbage and are overwhelmed with vicious and violent gangs who are unafraid of anything even remotely resembling an authority figure. These are places that are considered “No Go” or “No Enter” zones by police and firefighters because they are so dangerous. The rule of law simply doesn’t apply and anarchy is pretty much the norm. I know this because I’ve been there and I haven’t even had to go beyond our own borders. I’m referring to American cities that are rapidly approaching conditions that exist in Third World urban centers in Latin America or Africa. You’ll be confronted with a few very wealthy to decent communities surrounded by – well – absolute shit! To venture beyond the safety of your own immediate environs is to invite personal disaster. In more and more American cities the well-to-do live in protected, gated communities with their own security forces patrolling and maintaining order and stability. I understand that the body-guard business is absolutely booming! Our cities are in the process of being overrun and inundated by hordes of desperately poor folks who really see no hope for the future and who have stopped believing in the vaunted American Dream.

An article entitled, “American Cities Turn Into Hellholes (http://conservativetimes.org),” points out the obvious to anyone who still has a pulse or is not a member of the Far Left Elite when it states that the, “U.S. economy is dying and we are headed for the next Great Depression. The talking heads in the mainstream media love to make it sound like the economy is improving, but the truth is that it doesn’t take a genius to see what is happening to the U.S. economic system.” It continues that all over the country, “many of our greatest cities are being slowly but surely transformed into post-apocalyptic wastelands. All over the mid-Atlantic, all along the Gulf Coast, all throughout the ‘rust belt’ and all over the state of California cities that once had incredibly vibrant economies are being turned into rotting, post-industrial hellholes.”

The article continues that in many of our cities, “the real rate of unemployment is over 30 percent,” and that there, “are some communities that will start depressing you almost the moment that you drive into them. It is almost as if all hope has been sucked right out of those communities.” This is always the end result of full-blown, radical, and unrestrained Liberalism. Hopelessness kills the human spirit and destroys the soul. It leads to self-doubt, a tremendous lack of confidence in one’s own abilities to succeed and provide for one’s family, and instills a lack of faith in the nation’s institutions that are perceived as having failed and thus must be discarded and abandoned.

The article highlights, for example, the city of Detroit, Michigan. It notes that, “there are over 33,000 abandoned houses, 70 schools are being permanently closed down, the mayor wants to bulldoze over one-fourth of the city and you can literally buy a house for one dollar in the worst areas.” This, of course, was not always the case for Detroit was once a stellar example of middle class America but, “is now a rotting cesspool of economic decline and it actually saw its population decline by 25 percent during the decade that recently ended. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Detroit lost a resident every 22 minutes between the years of 2000 and 2010.” How is that even possible? The answer is simple. There are absolutely no jobs and therefore no opportunity in the “Motor City”, once the leading car manufacturer in the entire world.

In fact, at “the height of the economic downturn, the mayor of Detroit admitted that the official unemployment rate in Detroit was about 27%, but the real unemployment rate in his city was actually somewhere around 50 percent.” With so many folks out of work, the tax base virtually disappears and thus essential services cannot be provided. Detroit’s mayor, “wants to cut off 20 percent of the entire city from police and trash services in order to save money,” which would, “mean abandoning 20% of the city of Detroit to the gangs and to the homeless.” The mayor also has a plan, “in which authorities would bulldoze one-fourth of the city in order to save money on services.” The writer of the piece suggests that if, “you want to see what the future of America looks like, just take a few hours and go driving through Detroit sometime.” He warns, however, that this should only be attempted during daylight hours and, “Do not do this at night. Detroit is not a safe place anymore, and you cannot count on the police to help you in a timely manner.” Does this sound like America to you or rather like some burgeoning Third World Cesspool somewhere on the African continent?

Let’s move from Michigan down to the Garden State’s city of Camden. It seems that many “years ago, Camden was actually thriving and prosperous,” but today, “the city of Camden is known as the second most dangerous city in America.” The piece notes that the, “real unemployment rate in Camden is somewhere around 30 to 40 percent,” and that, “nobody in their right mind would want to live there now.” The author quotes from an article entitled “City of Ruins” which explains that the New Jersey city, “is where those discarded as human refuse are dumped, along with the physical refuse of postindustrial America.” Additionally, a “sprawling sewage treatment plant on forty acres of riverfront land processes 58 million gallons of wastewater a day . . . and the stench of sewage lingers in the streets.” Furthermore, there “is a huge trash-burning plant that releases noxious clouds, a prison, a massive cement plant and mountains of scrap metal feeding into a giant shredder. The city is scarred with several thousand decaying abandoned row houses.”

We also witness the, “skeletal remains of windowless brick factories and gutted gas stations,” as well as, “overgrown vacant lots filled with garbage and old tires, neglected, weed-filled cemeteries, and boarded up store fronts.” Like so many of our dying urban centers, the city has been virtually abandoned to gangs and that, “drugs and prostitution are two of the only viable industries left. . .” It seems that there exist, “perhaps a hundred open-air drug markets, most run by gangs like the Bloods, the Latin Kings, Los Nietos, and MS-13. Knots of young men in black leather jackets and baggy sweatshirts sell weed and crack to clients.” In fact, the “drug trade is one of the city’s few thriving businesses,” and a weapon is almost always close at hand. Yessirrr, this place really sounds like one of the Garden State’s most appealing garden spots alright!

The piece describes other American urban centers and the rot and decay that has set in. Places like New Orleans, Louisiana, and Vallejo, California, come under scrutiny and have become a testament to America’s growing Third Worldism. The author of the article goes on to quote noted scholar Victor Davis Hansen’s observations on the state of affairs in California. Hansen observes that many, “of the rural trailer-house compounds I saw appear to the naked eye no different from what I have seen in the Third World. There is a Caribbean look to the junked cars, electric wires crisscrossing between various outbuildings, plastic tarps substituting for replacement shingles, lean-tos cobbled together as auxiliary housing, pit bulls unleashed, and geese, goats, and chickens roaming through yards.” Does this sound to you like our country, the United States of America? Does this sound to you like the nation we love and revere so much? Yet, this is what Liberalism and dependency foster and promulgate and it has been so everywhere it has taken hold. There can be no other result, for this is exactly what Liberalism requires and demands!

The author accurately but depressingly concludes that the, “U.S. economy is slowly dying. Only 68.8% of American men had a job last year. That was the lowest level that has ever been recorded in U.S. history.” He notes that, “people are getting desperate. There are ten percent fewer middle class jobs than there were a decade ago and the competition for good jobs has become insane. More than 44 million Americans are now on food stamps and that number grows every single month. Millions more American families fall into poverty every single year.” Finally, the piece warns that it, “is time to face the truth about what is happening to America. Our economy is not growing and becoming stronger. Rather, the cold, hard reality of the matter is that our economy is very sick and it is dying. The seemingly boundless prosperity that we have enjoyed for decade after decade is coming to an end. Our communities are being transformed into absolute hellholes.”

Welcome to Third World America, folks. Here’s hoping you enjoy it!!
